Is Poker Profitable Or Addictive?

Do you make a profit by playing poker, or is it actually an addiction that brings you more harm than profit?

For me it's just addictive, I hope to be profitable one day!

Of course profit is the lottery.What you feel-successful or not-is comparable to the lottery.You can win on two and lose with ACE.Those who receive large winnings-a little.One thing is certain-this is the most addictive and exciting game!

I know a lot people from poker I can tell for sure, that 90% of them are addicted. And even if somebody has a big bankroll today it doesn't mean he has no bank credit, which is not payed.

It's hard to make a pause when you loose all day. It's hard not to come back if you had good win.

But poker is best of all gambling, at least you have to think.

Something can both benefit you and feel damn good.

Energy drinks in moderation keep your mental alertness so high that your physical IQ increases after frequent use. In excess or without a good diet attached to it, they just make you anxious and hyper.

Really? Show me the study and I'll run out and buy a case. Right now they just seem to me to be sugar and caffeine, neither of which has been linked to an increase in IQ that I'm aware of.

Oh, and Poker is definitively addictive for some people (like me). However, I've played many, many play money games, so in my case anyway, I kept coming back even though there was no actual profit possible.

Poker is definitely an exciting game, especially in tournaments at a late stage, or at the final table, when you can win or lose with one hand !!!

For me poker is exciting and has become a habit for me, but sometimes poker brings me a profit, not very big but nice when I win and you can spend and play poker further and try to win more!

People with naturally high IQs if you feed them the same amount of sugar as someone else and caffeine will get more out of the same glucose as less goes to thier muscles adn more to the brain. To overcome this a drink like monster has both taurine and b-vitamins. Taurine makes everything work 'faster' in the body as in all bodily processes increase their rate (not heart rate that's just caffeine but something like respiration and digestion happen much faster if you drink a full can). B-vitamins specifically make you able to USE nutrition faster including glucose so they close the gap between a low-IQ and high IQ person as they let you use the glucose faster. Caffeine helps with speed of thought as it increases the speed of any conscious effort in any way (in reverse though, if you try to relax it doesn't increase the success rate of this lol).

if it was not profitable there would not be the professionals of poker and also generates employment to several people but whenever you study for this reason for recreational players is not going to make it profitable and they will keep the money in the circuit so that the experienced can take it

Interesting question...

I think gambling in general is addictive. People like to WIN money, obviously.

and although it is profitable, It's not a glamourous life all the time...I knkos some "pros" in south florida and they're burnt out a lot. But they do "make" money..........a lot of times it's staked and they don't make that much.

But poker itself, is super entertaining for certain people. It touches a certain thinking man's nerve.

I'd say both addictive and for a (big) minority, profitable too

..... to be deserving simply means that you battle to make everything happen in the best decision making I deserve everything that I believe not only in poker but in life poker can be said to be a parallel world for the people there will always be limits to be broken, the different styles of players and the emotion is not in playing the poker in if more inside that that of the poker its vein would artery where everything makes sense where the emotion the pleasure makes you a better person in what does

can you make profit in any field if you are new? of course not. for example, you want to work as a taxi driver, but you do not know the traffic rules and do not know how to drive a car. you can try taxing, but most likely you will become a participant in an auto accident. so also in poker. you need to learn and try hard to make a profit.
