What do you think that to play poker you have to be psychologically prepared?

Do you think it is important to create an image of the table to not only play with your cards but also with your opponents?

is it important to be changing your image every so often or to keep one?

I would like to know what you think about it.

you have to understand that if we are serious players when we go to a poker game what we are really doing is going to a battle.

Psychological preparation is vital for each player, since at the outset he is giving the corresponding weight; there are some who are simply going to hang out.

Personally, I don't start playing poker to hang out. It is often said that poker is a hard way to have an easy life.

Poker Player Phases

1. Illusion
2. Motivation
3. Frustration
4. Depression
5. Acceptance
6. Apathy
7. Nirvana

what do you think about these phases?

What is it that in order to become a professional player you have to go through all of these?

Can you avoid any of these in order to become a professional player?

If you were so nice, I'd like to know what you think.

Patience and Discipline

In order to become a professional player, the most important thing is to have patience and discipline.

you have to be patient for the letters to come out.

You also have to have a lot of patience to overcome bad streaks sooner or later, good cards will come to us, you don't have to despair.

You have to have discipline to play the number of hands that we propose.

The professionals say that the more hands we play the more we will dominate the game.

You have to have discipline to play according to the strategy that we have proposed.

In conclusion, it is necessary to have discipline if we want to become a professional player and above all, patience because the changes do not happen overnight.

I actually consider psychology the strength of my poker game: meanwhile, I've been trying to refine my fundamentals (I find psychology interesting outside of poker as well though). With this said, I think I did it backwards compared to most players lol; I think most players learn the game of poker well (GTO and math side/straight-forward play) and only later begin to investigate the psychology element of the game.

How important is poker psychology? In my opinion, I think it is not too important - at least not at the lower stakes. You can beat most of those games with zero understanding of psychology by just playing a sound strategy (usually) a tighter game. With this said, I think poker psychology is much more important at the highest levels of play. Why? Because everyone there is already really good at the other parts of the game (or they wouldn't make it that far) and the psychology element may be the small thing that gives them a slight advantage over the opponents.

You also asked about table image. I see poker as a game about people and reading the ever-changing situations. In this mindset, table image will constantly be changing and the best players can adapt to their advantage. Of course, most players won't capitalize on this because they will just be playing their own cards and not be aware that situations have changed. A "situation" could be something as big as effective stack sizes changing, or as small as observing that one player has been getting a run of bad beats lately (if they are tilting from the bad beats, then know that they may bluff more and that you don't want to bluff them much because they may call wider).

Hi.
In general, I agree with you. Undoubtedly, the psychological training of the player plays a very important role. Obviously, patient and disciplined players have the advantage and will be able to succeed.
Good luck.

Poker & Social Life?

Hey guys, I also have two not so related questions about poker.
I’m currently trying to find out how one could make the lives of poker players a little bit easier :)

Which is why I would love to hear your opinion about two very simple questions:

1. As a poker player, what are the 2 biggest issues you’re dealing with in your social life?

2. Regarding your social life, what would you wish for more than anything else? T

hanks so much in advance - looking forward to reading your answers!

Totally agree with you. If some of the phases seem like haven't happened in turn means that it is bound to happen in tge future. Great explanation and great thread and discussion everyone. Hand claps all over the place.
