Of course it will still exist as long as people keep playing it. I'm not sure it's especially 'relevant' as it's a minority hobby, but who cares. It will of course continue to be played for centuries

It lasted for so long, why would it change? Poker talks to most basic human instincts, creates many emotions during play.
Similar to gambling, which couldn't be defeated so far.

Poker isn't going to just vanish. It might wain in popularity from time to time but I don't think it'll go away, imo.

I see that in third world countries like mine, Brazil, the popularity has been increasing due to the possibility of high extra income that the game allows. Unfortunately, currently the number of players is decreasing because of the economic crisis...

Even before the Chris Moneymaker boom, poker was very popular in the USA. what made this game become so big this way?

Its an interesting and intriguing game.. and there are different forms of poker like NLHM, PLO, PLO5, PLO6, Short Deck.
