Live poker isn't dead. It will come back after the pandemic with pent up energy (probably 2022). And with bots and AI getting tougher and tougher there may very well be more people wanting to play live. In the meantime online play affords me lots and lots of practise and a deeper perspective on the game.

I think those solvers will really make a difference in cash games for online poker. I only play tourneys now and I’m sure they give a big edge on those as well

I would be happy for the game to go back to fully manual.

The whole world is pretty messed up, and didn't get back to normal. And it's not clear whether or when it will get back to normal, or should we accept new norms? And poker as just one small facet of life mirrors it.

I don't think that much has changed. Live and online poker, have both co existed for a very long time and will still be the case in the long foreseeable future. Because of Covid, there is indeed a surge in the number of players playing online. Even after this ends, I predict, live poker will resume as usual with much more number of players than usual and online poker will see a drop but only to a little extent. It's still a good growth for poker community.

It is always fun when i see this thing about rigged online poker. Big companies in the online field like pokerstars, GG, party and so on have much more to loose as reputation than they will win from such scheme. and believe me - if there is such a thing it will leak sooner or later. Regulators also check routinely the gambling operators. Some small unregulated sites my be rigged but i do not believe that big players will take such huge risk. After all they always take their rake no matter who wins or looses.

Regarding the poker fate - i do not believe that poker will ever be dead. It is great game and will survive no matter which way it will be played in future (online, live or some hybrid form).

People saying online poker is rigged are too dumb to understand that the software used is tested by third parties

Indeed, online poker often appears to be manipulated in some ways. This sometimes leaves us unmotivated.
But live poker, in essence, must always remain the same.
I play a lot more online and I don't believe the programs are 100% honest.

The part that hasn't changed is....
rookies (and players who aren't quite as good as they think they might be) have a tendency to blame the poker sites for their losses..... and typically don't fully understand (or accept) variance.

I just can't make sense of the part I've underlined in your post.
It's one thing to think the sites are rigged (&/or out to get you... or favor someone over you, etc. etc. etc. )... but to think they are not honest and then still play on them

Online poker has changed in many ways.
It is much harder to make a profit for most players.
rake is too high in micros
players are much better... & continue to get better all the time (so much more information is available these days).

The entry of new generations to the world of poker undoubtedly produces qualitative changes. The appearance of new rooms with different proposals often distorts the soul of poker. IMHO, live poker is still king

No matter how online poker changes, I think it will be alive and well for a long time to come. Someone leaves the game, but eventually returns again, a lot of new players appear, etc.

It may have changed, but the number of players is not...Online poker is a program...When we're in tilt, it's always someone else's fault...Online live games are no substitute...

When luck betrays you it seems to be rigged, but when you win then you probably don’t have that impression.
If I think someone is going to trick me, I try not to give him that opportunity. If you really doubt the honesty of online poker rooms, don’t play online.

I remember having a huge edge in games OTHER than Hold'em, especially in PLO8. It seems that over time, most players have learned how to adequately play the other poker variants.
