As far as I know, I am limited to playing on full tilt, pokerstars, and bugsy's club, as they are the only ones with Mac clients. I have played many full tilt freerolls, but the ones on pokerstars are perplexing to me. Every one I click on seems to say I need a "ticket" in order to register. Is there a specific color or name for the round 1 freerolls that do not have any prerequisites?

almost all freerolls at pokerstars belong to some community or a region. you are only allowed to enter astronomers freerolls. ( copernic, hubble .. ) but huge amount of people enter them unfortunately

I'd get rid of the Mac and buy a PC. When you can play most anywhere including in the freerolls this forum sponsors once you have 50 posts.

Laugh at buying a computer to play freerolls. Real belly aching laughter, I just ate, please stop. You have to win a satellite (astronomers) to play in Pokerstars freerolls. 12k ppl in NLHE, if you're any good at other poker variations I'd try one of those at an off peak hour. Its still 4-6k people for 88 tickets but you can play as many as you like. You can use your tickets for any round2 saturdays and sundays.

After I saw this post, I went into Pokerstars and took a look around but couldn't quite figure how to do this (trading play money).

I'm probably just not looking at the right place, but can someone help and direct me to how I try this out as well? Thanks!
