Are your paying your bills with poker winnings? That is by definition a professional poker player.

If the majority of your bills are paid with money you win from playing poker then you're a professional poker player. :)

Do you depend on your poker winnings for daily living? A pro has to maintain a bankroll and cover his expenses (food, rent, travel, tournament entry fees, so on and so forth. If you are making a few bucks and putting it towards a few bills I don't think that makes a pro.

If poker rooms are lining up to sponsor you for live tournaments then you are a pro.

If you can sustain a bankroll and live (pay bills, eat, etc.) by your poker winnings then you fall into the "poker pro" category, imo.

it really depends on where you live but to be a professional you need to be a winning player who main score of income if off off poker. Where I live winning 40K a year would be a bare living but in some areas of the world could make a a nice good life style.

You can know, first by seeing your gains that you have had during your last years and making a comparison, second by being more responsible and disciplined, that will help you know and finally know if you have risen in levels by playing tournaments of higher level and price

By the results you get.
If you achieve satisfactory profits and do not lose all your money.
I think this is a good poker player

You can call yourself a professional player when you have a lot of money won in poker and you can increase your money playing with it and not lose then you will be considered a professional player and play at high limits with players of the same level, then you can say for sure that you are a professional player

In my understanding, the concept of a poker professional is slightly different from other professions and activities. In poker, you are a professional when you can earn money from it, this is your main income, which covers all your financial needs (food, clothing, bills, etc.) - in this case, you can call a person a professional poker player.

When poker becomes your source of income and you no longer depend on anything to live other than poker, then you are a professional.

You will become a professional player only when you can survive only from the money you earn in poker during at least 2-3 years. Then you can consider yourself a professional poker player who can fully supporting himself.:unsure:

You need to look at your poker statistics over the past year. If you're a plus player, this is one of the factors that you may already be a pro. Also, if you have no complaints about your discipline, this may also indicate your professionalism. But even if you still decide that you are already a strong player, you can't stop going to Las Vegas. Try to play at higher stakes and see what happens...
