To be honest, I wouldn't play or study poker that much just for fun. The possibility of earning money plays a huge role in this.

When playing only low stakes & profits will not pay bills regularly, its just playing for pleasure. Lest playing high stakes to pay bills regularly, then its playing for profit.

The first time i played was when myself and 8 friends were sitting around after work with nothing to do till our next shift so we started a game that was 1975 we played together when even were worked together now at 65 most of them are gone or can't play so i play for the fun of it sometimes i win most times i don't be it's still fun.

poker is both fun and profit for me, I play my favorite game and earn it's just as cool so I can't share these 2 factors. Both options are suitable for me, I think, like many poker players, it's cool to play their favorite game and get paid for it

I don't play for the money but for the please if it. I was once an athlete and poker allow me to fill that void on competition play for the tournament win. Now don't think it does not mean i don't care about the money, but I can get the same thrills winning $10 or $200
