I understand being upset but me personally can not entertain internet thugs. I know that few would say the stuff they say online in my face personally . So I laugh it off as they do not really know me. I have some called me racist names and we are the same race, hope my kids die and so on....lol How do you know if I have kids? It's just your typical online thugs

A few days before Christmas I had someone tell me that they wanted to rape my children. I was basically giving this other guy a hard time over a really bad beat he put on me and this guy chimes in and starts talking smack to me. I gave it back to him some and then he pulled that one.

I was going to report it but didn't in the long run. What are they going to do? Ban his chat? They certainly aren't going to stop taking his rake.

I respond the same way Phil Ivey did.
I don't know about anyone else, I do not report these players, I make a note and actually get excited when I see them at the cash tables. They are usually the ones who will spew chips.
It is even better when someone does take offense and mouths back, it is so easy to creep in the hand when they are focused on each other and don't even notice you.

i think players are loud mouths on chat sometimes as people who can get affected by what they say can sometimes go on tilt, then they use this a s an advantage.

you shouldnt take anyone seriously when they are mouthing off just mute them and get on with your game, but what that player was saying is pretty disgusting. doubt they can do much on FT about it though.

I was playing in a micro cash game earlier this month and won a hand with something like pocket 6's and got 6 on the flop. The other guy went all in and I called and won the hand. I won I think $5 and some change from this guy. He then went on a rant about me getting cancer.I wonder if this was the same guy, I don't recall his name.

I did tell him I was going to take the money I won from him to pay for the treatments. He said wow must be great treatment for only $6 bucks! I said yeah think about it it's only $6 bucks.

That stopped his rant.

A couple years ago, someone told me in chat that he hoped my daughter "got ****ed by a big black dude til she bleeds". I never mentioned to him anything about me having a daughter or even my race, so he guessed lucky. Then when I told him my daughter was only 8 (at the time), he just laughed. I don't think I have to say here how I felt.

I guess we just have to realize there are some very sick people in this world and some of them just happen to play online poker. There's no way any of them would have the guts to say this crap to any of our faces. Sitting behind a keyboard typing garbage is a power trip for them. I still get shocked when it happens, though. I don't think that'll ever change. I just manage my tilt better now than years ago. Cheers.

You should try and help them next time. Understand that the reason they are lashing out has nothing to do with them getting beat in poker, really.. but it comes from deep inner feelings. Hurtful feelings that they have probably been bottling up since they were a child. Feelings that they have not been able to tell anyone since that day that Uncle Fred touched them in their no-no places. So, they lash out. They are ashamed.. confused.. humiliated.

Just let them know it wasn't their fault. And if they need to talk to someone, then send them to an online help line.

I have read a few more posts in this thread, but I will just point out their are people in this world whos families have had children die of cancer, I came from such a family and sometimes something like that really hurts. So yeah how dare he think its funny, I have been in many wards full of sick and dying children and its something that will neve leave you so yeah someimes words can do damage.

seriously though I can understand how 4dogs got upset but +1 to turning of chat if theres is even a 1% chance of tiltage.

I think all those comments are no different than "F - You" only in today's culture "F - You" just doesn't cover it anymore.

I know there are plenty of people in horrible situations, and I truly feel for them, But I cannot stand for censorship, to censor even the worst things leads to censoring even the good things. I don't think anyone has the power to decide what one person can and cannot say.

I absolutely do not agree with what he said, reporting him is an idea as he is violating FTP rules, its their thing. I just know they wont ban his account, they'll just stop his chat, and to me that'll just help him.

Also you of all people should know you can't let these things get to you, if you let it in you'll fall apart.
