if you think your seeing alot of the same cards and your blaming the random number generator...consider this...your absolutely going to be playing alot more hands in an online game then you would in a live table game...and because of that its going to seem like your seeing some of the same cards at times

i play blackjack a fair bit at a local casino that uses an automatic card shuffler...and because i'm a regular player i see lots of similar hands...just sucks when you have a good double down on an 11 and the ace hits you...multiple times...ugh

I never said it was rigged...I said it's not randomly generated. rigged would be the poker site having a player at your table knowing what's gonna happen. And to u Mr. I've played 10,0001 hands so I know everything I have been playing online for 4 years and the first 2 years i was playing i almost NEVER saw pocket aces or kings for me or anybody at the table but recently its been way to much but hey maybe for the past 2 years me and everyone else have just been getting extra lucky to get these pocket aces and kings more often.

First, you said that the site favored the big stack in tournaments, i.e. rigged in their favor. So yes, you did indeed say it was rigged, if worded slightly different.

Second, it's blatantly obvious you're just spouting off random nonsense now. I ask you for proof sir, or it didnt happen. To simply say "I see pocket A's and K's more often now than 2 years ago" means nothing unless you have some concrete evidence to back it up. To combat this useless logic, I saw you murder someone last Tuesday in downtown Chicago.

evidence? ok, i should've save every hand for the last 4 years just to prove to you the cards aren't randomly generated...all i need is what i see and my experiences and i've experienced more pocket pairs lately(especially for 2 or more at the same time) and big stacks late in tournaments winning hands they shouldnt(even me)...and can you honestly tell me when your at a table and someone has pocket pairs theres not at least 2 others with pockets? And again i'm not saying rigged because if I thought it was rigged I wouldnt play at all.

Ok, since we no longer need evidence to substantiate claims, I hereby sentence you to life in prison for the murder I saw you commit last Tuesday in downtown Chicago. Good day sir :D

ok here's my proposition:

Since you're talking about you playing, I won't use my data, we can do yours. Play 10k hands (if you can't do that in a reasonable timeframe we can pick people you trust or work out how we can get a neutral party or parties, we could get 10 people to play 1k each and combine them). The expected value is 588. I'll bet you any amount from $20 to $5k that the amount of pocket pairs we see is under 650. Or if that's too wide of a range we can do 100k hands (multiple people would be best), expected (for me) is ~5880, and I'll take anything under 6100.

Statistically the difference between 5880 and 6100 is not huge and even if the amount is off (ie rigged) by 3-4%, you would win this bet. Anything smaller and you wouldn't notice it anyway, so since you can notice it it's obviously off by more than that.

This is open to anyone for any amount, I'll take multiple pieces of action, but only up to $5k. First come first serve, so get your action quick while you can.

yea, but were not talking about jail, murder, or getting someone in trouble. we're talking about POKER(a game)...i'm stating my OPINION about the topic randomly generated cards...i'm not trying to go and make a case against full tilt or any other site. i dont need HARD evidence to make this opinion...and since you wanna go there you saying you saw me do it is the same as me saying i saw these pockets more often and me seeing big stacks win hands they shouldnt...do you have a video of me doing this as your saying i should have evidence of this stuff happening? or did you just see it happen? because i think you said you saw me shoot someone which is the same as kinda evidence I have ;)

That was my point exactly, which obviously you missed entirely.

And there's a huge difference between stating your opinion and saying something that is in direct contrast to proven fact. Your "opinion" is false. Anyone with a halfway decent database can show you that hands get dealt the correct amount of times, win the correct amount of times, and encounter other hands the correct amount of times. Basically what your saying amounts to saying that it's your opinion that the moon is made of spare ribs (I really hope someone gets that). An opinion is a stance on something that is not PROVABLE. Such as what is the best band of all time, or the most fun video game . . . etc . . .etc . . . Statistics regarding poker and specific poker hands are freely available to anyone. It has been proven that your ludicrous claims are false, not a matter of opinion. Stop your stupid trolling, no one here cares all too much about what you've "seen" unless you have something to back it up.

and your not getting my point...im not throwing numbers out there like you get pockets x amount of times i'm just saying people get pockets more often now and its more than 1 person at a time who gets it...im not saying how many times out of a thousand it happens im just saying it happens enough to make me believe the cards arent just randomly generated...and you also have no proof that the cards are randomly generated and if your proof is that the site says it does then i'm sure you would believe me when i tell you I'm God himself...and if you dealt in front of your face 9 sets of cards 1000 times i'm sure you would be dealt pockets far less than you would online

You are claiming it happens more than it should. It's possible to calculate how much it should. Thus you are claiming it happens more than 21.7% of the time. If you believe that is true please take my bet. If you don't, please shut up.

You claimed it happens more than it should. It should happen 21.7%. That means you ARE putting a number out there. Doesn't matter though if you stop posting or not as long as people see how moronic your posts look. Don't make a claim you can't back up, and then when people prove you wrong don't expect for people to trust your experience (for which there are psychological terms for the misconceptions you are having) over the cold hard data.

Here it is again from pokerstars

SHUFFLE

"Anyone who considers arithmetic methods of producing random digits is, of course, in a state of sin." - John von Neumann, 1951
We understand that a use of a fair and unpredictable shuffle algorithm is critical to our software. To ensure this and avoid major problems described in [2], we are using two independent sources of truly random data:
  • user input, including summary of mouse movements and events timing, collected from client software
  • true hardware random number generator developed by Intel [3], which uses thermal noise as an entropy source
Each of these sources itself generates enough entropy to ensure a fair and unpredictable shuffle.
Shuffle Highlights:

  • A deck of 52 cards can be shuffled in 52! ways. 52! is about 2^225 (to be precise, 80,658,175,170,943,878,571,660,636,856,404,000,000,000,000,000 ways). We use 249 random bits from both entropy sources (user input and thermal noise) to achieve an even and unpredictable statistical distribution.
  • Furthermore, we apply conservative rules to enforce the required degree of randomness; for instance, if user input does not generate required amount of entropy, we do not start the next hand until we obtain the required amount of entropy from Intel RNG.
  • We use the SHA-1 cryptographic hash algorithm to mix the entropy gathered from both sources to provide an extra level of security
  • We also maintain a SHA-1-based pseudo-random generator to provide even more security and protection from user data attacks
  • To convert random bit stream to random numbers within a required range without bias, we use a simple and reliable algorithm. For example, if we need a random number in the range 0-25:
    • we take 5 random bits and convert them to a random number 0-31
    • if this number is greater than 25 we just discard all 5 bits and repeat the process
  • This method is not affected by biases related to modulus operation for generation of random numbers that are not 2n, n = 1,2,..
  • To perform an actual shuffle, we use another simple and reliable algorithm:
    • first we draw a random card from the original deck (1 of 52) and place it in a new deck - now original deck contains 51 cards and the new deck contains 1 card
    • then we draw another random card from the original deck (1 of 51) and place it on top of the new deck - now original deck contains 50 cards and the new deck contains 2 cards
    • we repeat the process until all cards have moved from the original deck to the new deck
  • This algorithm does not suffer from "Bad Distribution Of Shuffles" described in [2]
PokerStars shuffle verified by Cigital and BMM International

PokerStars submitted extensive information about the PokerStars random number generator (RNG) to two independent organizations. We asked these two trusted resources to perform an in-depth analysis of the randomness of the output of the RNG, and its implementation in the shuffling of the cards on PokerStars.
Both independent companies were given full access to the source code and confirmed the randomness and security of our shuffle. Visit Online Poker Random Number Generator for more details.

and whats up with the @#%@#%@#@#@#@#%@#%@%# this is a forum based on opinions why are you getting hostile?

Because it is frustrating as hell to try to explain something so simple as that FACT that superstitious thought like this will make you LOSE AT POKER.

The person who actually UNDERSTANDS the irony of this is trying to better the other person's game.

Even while he tries save ONE SOUL from the FISHPILE he makes money from that fishperson frequently calls him names and refutes plain simple logic.

It's a fairly strong "why do I even try" reflex.

It is randomly generated. If you could see every hand at every table all at the same time you would see that the averages for any hand are respected. But you can't see that from a multiple number of hands at 1 table. There is far too much input, especially on a site such as pokerstars, to be able to even try to determine whether or not it is randomly generated without knowing everything from every table and every hand.

Yes. I played about 150-200 hands today and there was 1 instance only where someone had a higher pp than someone else. I realize that is not many hands to judge but it doesn't seem to be out of proportion to me

One hand you lost and you're giving up? LOL. you might as well give up poker forever if you think you're never going to get beat by draws.

Tell you whats amazing with most of these sites/generators alot of the time in certain situations i can call exactly whats goin to happen...(yeah i no if that was true half the time id be rich)...but seriously for instance if your playing a sng and the low stack goes all in, 9 times out of ten its like the bloody software grows a heart and the small stack wins/donksout. Amount of times that has happened is actually quite unbelievable.

No you can't. And if you can, put money on it. We can watch a tourney together (or cash game, whatever floats your boat), and you can predict hands. We'll do it long enough to get to a decent long run and if you are right more than you statistically should be, then you win the bet, and if you're not I win the bet. Name your stakes.

i play on poker stars quite a bit too. i get aggravated when i lose like anyone does, but if im being honest and not skewing my thoughts by looking at it from the perspective of the site is out to screw me, i can say that it is random, completely and totally. blazin, it certainly seems to me as though you remember the times you lost to a suckout, but how many times did you suck out on someone? honestly. i bet if you examine this truthfully you will realize that it is in the best interest of the site to run an honest game. they have no interest in cheating you or anyone else. why would you or anyone ever put any money on there if the site was crooked. obviously they wouldnt. take a step back, take a deep breath, and think about your conspiracy theory. its so full of holes it could be swiss cheeese.

Well if the worst hand always wins why tell us, just play your 2 8 or 7 10 or A 6 all in and win a fortune. And don't forget to fold your AA or KK.

There are bad beats in live poker also, i was playing saturday night in a live game where we have three tables going and i had pocket jacks i raised someone else reraised and then someone else pushed all in, normally i would think about calling the the all in but the guy that reraised me i pretty much new he was holding a monster so i folded. come to find out one was holding aces the other was holding kings so three pocket pair at one time at the same table isnt all that uncommon u just dont always get to see it because they get folded on the flop or whatever.

The point is they can SAY it's random all they want. Where is the proof that it actually is? I don't know if it's playing more hand than you can live or what that makes some think it isn't random. When you hit those streaks though it can be pretty hard to buy into the notion that you're dealing with a fair dealer. I'm in the middle of about a 3 week streak where I simply can't win anything. Not even a double up a tournament and it seems like everything is a bad beat. You name it I've seen it all in that short span of time. Sets getting cracked by multiple flushes. Hitting running outs. I had KK get busted when a guy get two queens for a set on the flop. And the had right before I had aces busted by someone hitting 7 on the turn and river for a set. Then of course there's the bad hands you fold only to have the flop come up and see you would have hit the nuts. I really hope this is just the worst luck I have ever had, but it sure gets hard to be believe some times.
