In my opinion, your progress is reflected directly in your bankroll. If it grows, it means that you are moving in the right direction. At least for me, my bankroll is the best reflection of my progress.

I don't think that the bankroll shows your progression because you might be in a good roll
your progress is how you handle your stress and the lecture of your opponent by knowing what to do at the right time
When I started i went from freeroll and won 23$ to 500$
2 days later i was at 0$
that's why i say bankroll means not to much
