I think it's variance. šŸ˜„ Not everyone has what it takes to tame it.

A) Variance
The reason is that, even when you consistently make mathematically correct decisions, variance can cause you to lose over thousands—or even tens of thousands—of hands. Learning to live with those swings is one of the greatest challenges in poker.

Variance for sure. Everything else can be studied, trained and controlled.

E) Bankroll Management
Thats kind of related to variance, because without variance there would be no need for a bankroll. There also would not be much money to be made, because poker would be another skill game like chess, and bad players or gamblers would not continue to spend money on it.

I'm going to change a few things

A Bankroll management, it keeps you in the game
B Variance, tests your patience
C Tilt, tests your discipline
D Exploitative strategy, is what actually makes you money
E GTO protects you from being exploited.

Accepting variance dramatically reduces tilt, but it may not eliminate it entirely.

You don't control the cards. You only control whether your decisions are profitable.

I'd say the biggest boss in poker is yourself. Staying patient and making good decisions over and over is the toughest challenge.

What I meant to say is that you can have all the top level skills required to master the game, make consistent winnings and become a top-level world class pro!
It’s just that I stressed on connecting the real final boss of poker thing to bankroll management because that is the topmost difficult thing to master once you start becoming a winning player!
We all have seen many worldclass players who’ve mastered every aspect of poker like a final boss and won a lot but still went bankrupt like Tom Dawn!

Occasionally even KK will crack AA in all ins pre flop. I think the most important thing in poker, once you improve your game, is your mental game. Or mental strength, if you will. You need to focus on making the best decisions, no matter what the results are. And focus on what you can control- making the best play, the best decision, in your specific situation.
