Why hide who he is? Just play poker and drop the act. Its not like people dont know who he is already.

Its probably for tax purposes.

He could be screwed beyond belief if he made all his money in one tax year and lost it all in another because then technically he might still owe all the tax on it if he didn't pay it on time.

Also, in the article he says he never studied any hand histories. If he has been playing online poker for what ever amount of time, this is most definitely a lie.

I remember reading elsewhere that these Card Runner scumbags were the ones that beat Gus so much earlier this year causing his big downswing on the year. Makes me wonder if they ganged up on him as well.

I'd be very surprised if these three jerks get any more action on Fulltilt. I hope everyone refuses to play with them. Or better yet, I hope Ziggy gets really drunk and plays them and destroys their bankrolls. :D

From what I remember the people that did the most damage were: durrrr, the Dang Brothers and Ziigmund. Each of them had close to a million dollar stack several times.

Pros back in the day couldn't do this, so why say its a lie? Everyone plays different and for some studying hand histories may only help them a little or not at all.

He mentioned that he has poker friends so mayb he doesnt review HH, watch videos or read books bcos he's got poker friends to help him out in the past. It does seem a bit odd for a guy who doesnt do this, to come into the high stakes with no fear and crush the game. But all I can say is welldone to Isildur1 for his hard work!

Im tottaly head blown about this thread. I thought the wins over Isildur1 by Townsend, Hastings and Cole were all legit wins and thought that Isildur1 has met his match. Untill I read this thread.

So wrong of Townsend, Hastings and Cole to do a excessive amount of sniffing of 50k HH just to try and beat one guy. Well done for the research and the hardwork, but it's just wrong on what they did just 2 find a unfair edge on Isildur1.

I hope Isildur1 writes to FTP and gets some sort of compensation. I know i'd b p!ssed off if people had to research 50K HH to find a edge against me and taken $5mill. It's silly to ask for it all back but u'd want something back wouldn't ya?

And now Isildur1 has gone away for a while...Thanks Townsend. Ya douche.

(still head blown about what has happend)

No way should he get his money back, thats not how this kind of situation works. Nobody, not a red pro, not the average joe should return the money in this situation.
Agreed. I dont know how the hell they could really justify giving him his money back, when colluding happens all the time on the site even if its not this obvious or known. You cant just start giving out handouts just because someone got ripped off. Chit happens. Granted it was ALOT of money prolly more than ill ever see but this just cant be justified to me without giving a hell of alot more handouts.

This interview is bizarre. Anyone that regularly plays even 200nl or up is aware of datamining and the possibility that his/her hh's could be analyzed for patterns.

For a nosebleed player to appear so ignorant of that possibility, and the possibility that multiple players could get together to discuss strategy vs. a specific opponent (there's no rule against doing this - the Townsend issue is specific to datamining) as prominent as Isildur1, seems completely disingenuous. Like Marginal, I also can't believe he's never even analyzed his own hh's. He can't be that ignorant/dense.

On PS if your cought colluding(i dont mean sharing HH,but chip dumping or sharing hole cards) all the cheaters money gets shared amongsed thouse cheated.
Dont think this should be done in this case since sharing a database/notes/w/e is clearly not the same as chipdumping but just wanted to point it out to you :).

I am just going to quote this because it is just such a good post. By saying these things he is likely to get a better case against BT, CS and BH but it is just not believable.

Or the interview with Isildur could be a fake.
Not like he is gonna break his anoynimity(sp?) just to come out and say "hey i didnt give that interview"

Granted, it's not essential to study hh's. However, in this environment, studying your own play, not to mention others' play, for leaks/opportunities is a huge opportunity to get an edge. Assuming Isildur1 is a young guy who moved up through online play (we know he started at lower high stakes tables on FT, lots of speculation that he built his br playing on European sites) it'd be hard to believe that he's never studied his own play in a database.

This was actually the first thing I thought, that either they weren't talking to Isildur or that he was deliberately lying.

I actually did not factor that into my thought process cause that would just be such an unethical thing to do and I just can't see a site like pokernews doing that but it definitely is a possibility.

Once a cheater always a cheater. "Townsend was first suspended by Full Tilt for six months in 2008 after he admitted to moving down in stakes and playing under a secondary username "Stellarnebula".

He is why there should be no datamining on sites, period.

Well i usualy trust pokernews pretty well but maked up interviews/storys have happened on major newspapers around the world so its not a big stretch to think a online news site could false a story that no one can prove/disprove except a person that has tried his best to remain unknown and there for cant discredit them.

Doubt thats what happened here but its def a possibility.

Exactly. Like the last suspension he got for cheating, just shorter this time.

I understand giving people a chance for an honest mistake (not knowing the rules?) but if these are YOUR guys, FT, tell 'em reading the T&C is mandatory. Extra so if they're busted once for violating them. Not knowing the rules after a prior suspension is simply not credible.

Kinda makes you wonder what other stuff he has done. Suspended twice and FT still sponsors the guy.
