I'm trying to sign up with PokerInside, but in order to start a sponsorship you need to verify your account by either sending in a text message (US only) or by scanning your passport/drivers license/phone or utility bill.
Out of the three I only currently have my passport...is it safe to scan it and upload it?

It's seems standard to me. It's basically a security thing. That's what it SEEMS like to me anyway.

i dont know chuck - it sounds a little sketchy to me. of course i could be way wrong, but my paranoid instincts would probably prevent me from uploading something like a passport.

This site is one of the biggest poker sponsorship sites on the net (if not the biggest) so i dont think they'd be using my passport as a fake ID or something :p
what i mean is do any of the numbers on my passport mean anything?
aside from my personal info, what other info could i be uploading if i do this?

I started an account there about a ½ month ago, and so far nothing seems to be wrong with the site, and I can see they are coorporating with CD poker(because I get rakeback). So the site seems to be legit.

When you join, don't forget all bonusses are deducted from the rakeback you recieve, but this is standard for most rakeback deals(but not all).

I wouldn't be too concerned mate, not really much they can do with a COPY of your passport. Just write "COPY FOR VERFICATION" across it in big letters (make sure they can still see most of the important info) before you send it.

yea i hate sending stuff like that out.

sent a bunch of stuff....real important stuff

to netteller....and now they can`t find it.

gets scarry. i`d feel better just sending a utility

bill if i could.

good luck,

PokerInside are ok and your stuff should be safe enough, however  whenever you happen to be paid a bonus on CDPoker they do take it off your rake due to you.

But all in all they're ok

Just make sure Chuck that you are on a secure page on their website (https) when giving any personal info and always make sure your comp is free from any virus or spyware bug for added safety.

I wouldnt. its like giving out your social# to anyone. Seems sketchy. Try and if u get busted for something u didnt do then u know why. Good Luck with it. Also i have never been told to scan my ID or anything like that b4.
