Hiho,

I am searching for good Poker cards. I am playing reguarly with some friends, but we don't have good cards. Mostly they got some quirks after one or two poker rounds.
I buyed some full plastic cards, but they also quickly worn out.

Is there a special/good brand for poker cards? Is there a special vendor for casinos?
Thank for any hint :)

best regards

What kind of plastic cards did you buy? How quickly did they wear out?

Casinos often use plastic coated paper cards because they are cheaper and because they can replace them frequently. When casinos use 100% plastic cards, they are usually Copag, Gemaco, Kem, Modiano, Cartamundi, etc.

On the next evening we want to try some from leaptech, but it seems that the print is not the best. These cards have a special design, complete black with silver and golden print.
We will see.
I googled the brands you posted, I think I will try some from modiano next. Evaluations are mostly positive.

Thanks for your hints :)

It's been my experience that Casino cards aren't designed to last long. I think it has something to do with the feel of the cards, which is fantastic when they are new.

I got lucky and bought 3 "Full Tilt" official deck of cards from someone who bought them from Full Tilt (I don't know how) when they closed...

I know it don't help you, but buying some official cards from online poker sites is what I mean. They are far superior in quality than most deck of cards you'll buy in a store.

Try getting a 3 pack of Bicycle playing cards. It will only cost about 5 dollars and each pack will last a few weeks and then you can toss them. Also, they will come with a red deck and a blue deck. We like have the dealer of the next hand shuffle up to speed up play.

Just today I got a deck of Pokerstars, they are Copag reds, officials although I understand, they are beautiful. I got it in less than a month, cost, $ 5, I think if it's worth it, try those or as recommended by the friend above, a poker platform officer.

By the way, I bought them on ebay

If you are playing on a surface with some grit on it (like a nice playing felt with some dirt) you will always destroy the cards. Make sure that it was the quality of the plastic cards that you used that caused them to wear out quickly, and not the playing surface.

I think playing cards just wear out quickly your best bet is getting like 10 packs for a 10er from the local pound shop and just change them regularly

One more vote for copag. They are good and not too expensive.

Thx, for the multiple replies.
I ordered two decks from Copag (PokerStars branded) Hopefully they are better.

Never buy some card from leaptech. Yesterday we had our pokerround. after 3 hours the cards where unplayable. The print shines a little bit threw the backside. So you were able to se if its only a nubmer or a broadway card...

Faded Spade makes a quality 100% plastic card. They are responsibly priced at $22usd for a set of 2 decks. They also offer a four colour deck. I have a regular set and a 4 colour set, they look and feel great. I haven’t had them long enough to know for sure but they are holding up well so far.
