Should you play tighter on a limited bankroll?

I think Yes!!! Well unless the bankroll is so small that it isn't worth protecting. You need to sacrifice some of the aggressive but risky profit you'd make with daring bets, raises, and calls. Survival becomes the more important factor with a limited bankroll. So, you should play tighter.

You will never improve if you let your bankroll dictate how you play. Never join a poker game if you can't afford to lose the buy-in. If you have to worry about the money you can't keep your mind on the game!!! When I have a small bankroll play a bunch of sit-n-gos to build it up a little.

That is why you play in games that don't affect your BR so you can play your game without worry.

50-100 buyins for MTT
25-50 buyins for cash games.

The more buyins you have the less stress on your play at the table.

If you respect you bankroll management and you don't play on higer stakes i dont think you have to play tighter.

If you follow the basic rules of BRM, you won't be needing to play tighter, that's the initial idea or BRM, to be able to survive a potential downswing and to be able to play your A game, without fear you will go broke. So i would suggest, lower bankroll - lower limits and you'll be fine

I couldn't agree more - your limits should be determined by your bankroll, but your play should not.

This is the big problem. People play stakes way over they should play based on their bankroll and play too tight. Play stakes where you feel comfortable losing your buy in and not be in huge loss, but where you can play your game.

I think so because if you have a US$10 bankroll and play $1/$2 cash game you will lose you bankroll Very fast always only play 10% of your bankroll and you will not lose much money.

I think it depend of your way of playing and your stake... if you have advantage against your oponents, some edge, you can play like always with a limited bankroll...Even if the bankroll is too limited, because then you really need to risk or down your stakes.

To change your game due to bankroll limitations is never a wise move.

Stay focused on your game, but you will definitely need to lower your range of buy-in's.

To play/tighten-up your game style is self-defeating.

Never a good idea to put down money and play scared.

I've lost my bankroll many times, so now I tend to be on the consrvative side. 100-200 buyins for micro/low MTT's and 300-500 for mid/high stakes MTTs (assume that you'll rebuy/re-enter at least once if you register from the start). At least 30 buy-ins for micro cash, 50-100 for mid/high stakes cash. This way you will never be anxious about busting your role and you can focus on playing your best game.

There are times you want to be super lag/ super tight and somewhere in between. If you do not have those options at your disposal you'll never come in 3rd in the Drunken Donk Thirsty Thursday freeroll like I did last night. lol
