:heeeellll Like to know what you all think about the people that get in a game and just sit out to place? I'm talking about 6-10 player tables but I have also seen this at tourney tables after awhile. or just:stupido: :questionm :wavey:

I'd be surprised if anyone actually signs up to a SnG with a view to sitting out. If their opponents had any brains they would raise every BB and blind them out. Unless the other players muck up, it will be unlikely a sit-out will place in a SnG. More likely they're sit out due to computer problems, or something else has come up which means they cant play.

Personally I see nothing wrong with sitting out. It can be part of your game, (letting all the fish eat each other up at a freeroll), it can be just something that came up. I look at it two ways. First the person's chips, who is sitting out ,are going in the pot.
Second, if they are sitting out you can use that as a betting strategy. If they are sitting on the BB you can steal some blinds that way with the right type of bet.

Why do some people complain about free blinds? I don't get it. :)

The one time sitouts can be really annoying is when you make the final table and see a sitout is still in the tourney. Then you go out in eighth place and were beat by someone who never even played. Not that this has ever happened to me.:itsme:

I use sit outs as motivation. Also it seems there are times I am ahead by enoguh that I should sit out but my pride makes me continue to play

My feeling is that if someone has paid money to play in a tourney and chooses to sit out, that's their prerogative, although I don't like it. In a freeroll, I think people should be given a few minutes after the start and if they aren't playing by then, they should be booted. Since they didn't pay to enter, I don't think they should have the same option of sitting out.

i understand it, it sucks sometimes for some i suppose....but i can understand all the reason why some may have to. and sometimes if you have enough chips and you are itm enough for what you want, and another tourney is starting then you can move on to that one and concentrate and builing a stack there and so on and so on. I don't do this as i feel winning one would eliminate the need to place ina bunch but maybe some people don't have the luxury at being good enough at poker...i don't really pay much atention to others styles (except important info) at the tables as i could just spend my whole time playing driving myself crazy with the pysche of 1000s of crazy people
