What is your opinion on the skill to luck ratio of online poker vs live poker. Ignore use of software, assume everyone starts on even playingfield.

Live, as mentioned 75/25

Online, depends on value of the game , at high levels probably 70/30 at low stakes eg $1.50 or $3.50 games 60/40 at best and more like 50/50.

On the low stakes games because there is not as much to lose, you will get a lot of very loose plays where you will crap out with a great hand because your opponent refuses to give up. I've gone all in and bet out large with AA or KK pre and post flop both short stacked and decent stacks and got called by hands such as Q7 suited and lost to a flush on the river.

Its never 50/50 thats for certain. Statistically the chasers will loose in the long run. In poker just like all of life we tend to count the hits and not the misses. The times our AA wins we expect it so we dont note the occasion mentally. When 5 9 of suit calls all in preflop and wins we loose our minds and it becomes a very memorable instance.

Live id says 80 skill 20% luck
Online i dont think 50 50 is a fair value cause unless your able to deposit a HUGE amount your playing very low level poker and that luck factor goes above 50% from the years(10 or more) ive played. Its truly hard to get up from the low ranks when you cant beat a donk with hands that put you out that your a HUGE favorite. It doesnt matter what happened before in the game when a donk takes you out every time your in a race towards cashing. Sorry im not folding JJ QQ KK AA in a race with any one i have notes on that is a BS player.

I’ve played way more online than I have live. But the live I have played, I’ve typically done really well. I would just say that it seems like people are more cautious and seem to care more in live play. They seem to make less bad decisions. So skill seems to take me farther because people actually seem to fold out more in live play. Where as online, the bad beats just roll in with the careless calls and shoves with junk. That’s my two cents.

I don't know if there is a solid answer to this, but according to the places this has been tried in court, it is no doubt that it is a game of skill more than luck. (at least what I've read).

The luck difference is probably less than you think between live and online, as long as we are talking about cash games. You just have to play a little bit different.

IMO

I think the live poker has more skill, I think an experienced player can take advantage of the body reading other players.

In my opinion, the ratio of skill to luck will be approximately 80/20.

I think it doesn't matter if it's live or online. The percentages in my opinion are the same. Skill beats luck on the long run

I think that the chances of winning live are greater for anyone who knows well human psychology. Online you need to understand well the chances of combinations and then in the long run you will benefit.

If there is no luck skills will not help. Therefore, whatever the ratio was not, but without luck at the tables there is nothing to do

Hello.
I do not use auxiliary software. I only rely on my skills and experience. I think the ratio of skills to luck is about 70/30.

Live poker is much more skill than online. It seems like online you can have lots of luck.

I've never played live (not yet), but by reading about many articles regarding to this topic, I know the luck factor is much less in live poker rooms than online.
