Hi Marsel, welcome to CardsChat.

I was hoping to be in Vietnam in July to visit with @belladonna05 for a few weeks as well as some other things but that's now been put on hold due to my partner having health issues that need urgent attention.

Good luck with your poker games.

(y)
Thanks for your attention to my blog) I hope everything works out for you and that you will like Vietnam

We have freerolls on WPT Global. I wish I could play there, because they seem to have a lot of good games and promos. If you're interested we have a sign-up link here: https://tracking.wptpartners.com/visit/?bta=370&nci=5373

They have an Asian promo coming up that I will be posting about soon. @belladonna05 you might be interested in it too. There's also this promo:
Freeroll Your Way to The Battle of Malta with WPT® Global

Ha! I don't mean to sound like an ad - just wanted to give you some options to help grow your bankroll. And I wish I could play there.
Thanks. Once I qualified for a tournament in Malta through satellites, but I wasn’t granted a visa.

I have 3 daughters, two live in Indiana and one does the van life, we all flew to Miami to visit together for my youngest 40th. I was the only one that had the torture of flying that far lol

I hope I’m not misunderstanding this but you have to apply for Vietnamese visa outside Vietnam. You can also stack them, I’m applying for 2 for a total of a 6 month time frame right now. I only like to do 2 90 day visas at a time because you never know when plans change. ( like they did for this last minute trip lol)
In recent years, I’ve had a desire to try living in a van for 3 to 6 months. But that’s for the future — right now I don’t even have a driver’s license. Your daughter has a very exotic lifestyle.

I’ve never heard that you can apply for two visas at once. That’s new to me — I’ll look into it.

Traveling the world isn't a luxury; it should be a necessity for everyone. I'll be following your experiences because I plan to move and travel from Venezuela in Q3 2027 to Spain, Portugal, and Bulgaria (for my literary writing project and retirement). I'd also like to visit places like Réunion Island and one day explore New Zealand... aaaaaaaaaaaaand much play Poker Live&Online
The amazing life of a writer. And what is your book about? I understand you'll be looking for more peaceful places?

Cool. I'm sure Vietnam is an amazing country, but unfortunately I've never been there.

You can stack more than 2 but like I said, travel plans change so that's my current limit. You apply out of country a couple of days apart and it's a smooth process, except for having to always print the damn things ☹️

My daughter and her boyfriend are about to embark on the Alaska to the tip of South America travel journey, she's back in Indiana right now getting her brain scan early as it's going to take a bit over a year minimum.

Wow, that’s so cool. It’s the positive side of being a poker player, being able to live in different countries for as long as you want must be really great.

Thanks for the information. Maybe we'll try this option next time.

I also like this side of poker. I don’t need to report to anyone, and all I need is a laptop, and a monitor if I want. However, there is no official employment, so I don’t have a legal reason to stay in a country for longer than a short-term visa.

It’s my third month in Vietnam.

The “pink glasses” are still not fully gone, but I’m not naive enough to complain about my current lifestyle.
I live well here with very low expenses.
I’ll start with the people. I like Vietnamese people. They are positive, friendly and polite.
I always try to treat people with respect, and here I feel the same energy in return.
Bandicam 2026 03 29 18 20 37 934

Right now I’m sitting in a nice place, surrounded by green nature and the sound of water.
This is the first country where I really feel relaxed after poker sessions.

I think it’s not only about the vibe. It’s also because the cost of living is so low that you stop thinking about money all the time.
This reduces mental pressure.
Poker players will understand this feeling: when you don’t see prices as money, but as hours of play or number of tournaments you need to grind.

A big change for me was my new schedule.
I didn’t have it before. I play poker in the first part of the day, and I rest in the second.
This separation was something I really missed last year.
Bandicam 2026 03 29 18 18 43 761

In general, countries like this are very good for building a bankroll. You can keep a balance between poker and life,
without spending a lot on food, entertainment or daily things.
I don’t feel forced to work all the time just to cover basic needs.
Bandicam 2026 03 29 18 19 45 644

Before this trip, I had doubts about Asia. I was not interested in it at all. I came here without expectations, without stereotypes, without knowledge.
Like a blank page.
Vietnam is my first country in Asia, and it surprised me in a good way.
Bandicam 2026 03 29 18 18 32 396

Food. I really enjoy food. Vietnamese cuisine fits me well, but for the first two months my stomach didn’t agree with it.
I had some issues with digestion. Now my body adapted, and I really enjoy the variety of flavors.
Some dishes are very spicy, so it’s better to ask before ordering.

Sometimes I feel like I’m on an island, especially in places with a lot of green nature.
The humidity is high here, and it actually works well for my skin. In dry countries I had problems, especially in winter with heating.
Bandicam 2026 03 29 18 24 57 616

Night walks near the sea. The water is very warm. I like the feeling when the sand moves under my feet with the waves.
This is real relaxation. In moments like this, I feel calm and I understand that I’m able to keep balance in my life.

I also discovered Korean BBQ.
My girlfriend really wanted to try it again (she had it in Korea before), so after sauna we went there for dinner.
They cook meat right at your table, which makes the process more fun.
The food is very good, and many side dishes are included in the price.
The service is also great. If you travel in Asia, I recommend trying it.

That’s it for today. We are going for dinner now, and later we will take a walk near the sea with that salty ocean smell.

I'm not a stalker I swear! I'm fairly certain I recognize Marble Mountain and Ari Sushi ( I get the sea grapes, mushroom miso and mentako scallops)🥰

If you've not visited Bana Hills , it was my first tourist attraction visit and it's got some amazing views.

Didn't recognize the coffee shop but sooo many offer the ponds and greenery, very peaceful places indeed. B and B bakery ( in 43 town, same as Ari) still has my very favorite almond croissant and coconut coffee. It may be a touristy chain but their quality is soooo good. I just celebrated my 65th with a cake and women's coffee group from there (at a local coffee shop though ,much quieter)

Oh my favorite go to local place a few blocks south of 43 town, ( a lot of expats go there) great vietnamese food, wonderful staff is called The Tamarind Tree. Check it out if you haven't already!

If you happen to play live poker, Macau isn’t too far away, and that could be a great experience for you as well. In any case, I wish you success and the chance to see more of the world while traveling.

Yes, that’s correct — Ari Sushi is a good place. We like to go there after walking along the beach.
We haven’t been to Ba Na Hills yet. Planning to go next month. I’ve seen photos — looks really impressive.
I saved the places you recommended on Google Maps.

I’ve only played a bit of live poker so far. In the future, when I have more opportunities, I’ll probably attend live tournaments more often.

Around 50–150 tournaments per day. They are short — GG Poker Mystery Battle Royale hyper format with 18 players.
I’ve been earning only from poker for 6 years.

Thanks. My income is around $2,000–$4,000 per month. That’s enough for a comfortable life and traveling around Asia.

I've played in 3 different poker clubs, all at hotels. ( Wyndham Golden Bay, tourney cancelled 3 days in, Fivitel hotel ( closed in February)and Wyndham Soliel across from the beach. I've been told the casinos that have live cash games are all smoking.

Playing live here is truly a whack a mole experience. All 3 I've played at have been shut down , the latest at Wyndham Soliel raided by police with the two organizers charged. Fivetel hotel just sent word they are up and running again, I hope it sticks. The rules are fluid and it seems the organizers skirt them. A Vegas reg came over to play the Dragon tour at Golden Bay and wanted to stay, but she was in a room that got shut down and held for a few hours so it soured her experience. She plays live cash for a living and didn't need the uncertainty.

Wow, that’s crazy. I’ll definitely be more careful with casinos. They don’t really attract me anyway — the game feels too slow.
Really unfortunate that she ended up in that situation.

Hi, I’m from Russia, but I haven’t lived there for a long time.
I mostly travel around the world and have already lived in Argentina and Chile.
And in Brazil, Rio de Janeiro was just an airport layover.
Really nice to hear your words.

I usually work around 20–24 days per month, so I’m always competing in the leaderboard race.
