Depends what your playing. I imagine live heads up can be one of the most stressful experiences imaginable depending on who your playing with.

I don't find online to be overly stressful though

I try to keep concentration and calm whether to play or to study or work.

Stress affects performance in these 3 activities, I do relaxation, stretching, and balanced eating.

I still can not control stress well

stress happens to me sometimes while having a bad day! best thing to do is just stop for the day or at least couple of hours and recollect yourself!

For me it's depend of the importance that you give to the poker.

Then the tournament that are you playing.
And the money spend on it.

More risk is equal to more stress

I`m sure, that even for the most professional players poker is very stressful. I need not tell you of beginners, because for this sort the game is even dangerous. I mean our health. In different ways emotions during playing give stress on your heart, therefore we must be careful)

I agree we must be careful cause every so often I get extremely angry (maybe once every 3 months) and it is hazardous to one's health for sure

I find poker relaxing and it takes away my stress from other things. It is just a game. Exciting, rush but not stress.

hey man I consider my self a player that gets the game and for sure not a beginner any more and trying to move up my game i have no one local that i can find as a mentor/ coach/ some one to talk poker with and i feel more and more strested out when i screw up because i cant get feed back and suggestions what do i do I'm knew to this blog thing... Haha, it depends! Sometimes I feel that it's that "stress" or "rush" of sweating out hands that draws me into the game. Long sessions can be very relaxing, I think on some level playing a bit of poker can exaggerate whatever feelings you had before entering the session--assuming you break about even. Losing IMHO is always more stressful than winning...then again you know what they say about mo money.

I would say that an 8-10 hour MTT wears at me mentally more than a stressful week of my day job. Seat 2/3 and 6/7 focusing on the cards 5 feet away from you, managing opponents tells, calculating the value of a bet to keep callers active when you have a monster hand, the swings of the bad beats... It takes a toll on you, well me at least.
