Phenomenon. In my opinion, the best poker player in the history of poker. If he hadn't left prematurely, he would still be the best, several distances ahead of other greats of the game. He was a poker Bobby Fisher.

I really liked several of your observations about Stu Ungar, I also think that he was way ahead of the world staff, most of the big names in world poker were or are students of Ungar's unique and winning style, Stu Ungar was certainly the player who made the card game his priesthood, he studied and practiced several nuances of poker.

He didn't leave he was a junkie who couldn't handle his fame and died way too young.

He was great back in the day. Could He compete with today's poker scene? I hardly think so

I will add as a curiosity that Stu Ungar was able to memorize the order of cards in a deck. He had a unique method where he assigned each card a number from 1 to 52. He would add the numbers of the exposed cards and subtract them from the sum of 1378. This allowed him to predict with great accuracy what cards were left in the deck.

He didn't have a good bankroll management, but i guess he was good with cards and mathematics, and maybe also tells. I think that to call him the best, he would have had to have all the skills needed, bankroll management as well. I have seen one of he's games, and yes he had something for sure.

A very good player for his time and if he was alive today he wold easily still been able to compete with the players now. Because he would,ve addapted with time to the new methods
