to suit or not to suit

Today I played 57 times suited cards on PS.
36 times the flop brought up 3 cards of the same suit, but not mine.
12 times i had the flushdraw on the flop that was not completed and the rest was just another crap, I DID NOT GET ONE FLUSH.
Has anybody experienced sth. similar to that or is it really just my personal luck?

Hahaha, I always tell my dog but it won't listen either,
got my first fluush today after exactly 69 attempts.Hope the curse is over now.
And I don't chase, I see the flop and fold. But it was really impressive, how often I get dealt suited cards at first (at least every second hand instead of 4) and not hitting even 1 suit on all the board. :icon_king

Suited hand doesn't add but a percentage point or two to the odds. Nice to see a cheap flop but I'll fold in most MTT.

At least you get a lot of suited cards xD It's your luck, I would not devote much analysis to that, since the number of cases you propose does not make sense. Although it would be an interesting statistic if it were analyzed in thousands of hands. Too much work.PD: Once I began to study based on all my hands the configuration of each flop with two cards of color, how many times the flush was completed according to each configuration to find a trend, guess: do not take anything productive xD

I don't what the odds are for your scenario. All I can say is, been there, seen that.

What gets me is the yahoos sitting across from you with a 10-3 suited cracking someone's Aces or Kings. Not just once, but two or three times later. It is almost like the stars align for the mentally deficient. :hmmmm2:

The flush seems so easy when you only need one more after the flop to complete it. Best case though your 36% and if it's a full ring game know telling how many others have your suit.

I also have many moments when I need a map on - Flash - does not reach for an excellent combination, but you need to continue to play further and try to win on other cards, do not worry, all players have such disappointments

Well i also like to test suited connectors at early stage if i can see cheap flop with them and also more frequently i do not hit flush than i do (which is also expected). I did not attempt to calculate statistics and compare it with theory but at least sometimes i hit that flush and usually get good pot with it so it is good enough risk for me to play these hands cheap if possible. I had days when i could not hit a single flush from 2 or even 3 tournaments but this just happens sometimes.

I think that many people overestimate the chance to get flush, play suited cards too frequently and sometimes invest too much preflop hoping to get it. Even if we hit 2 cards on the flop and we only need one more on the turn or river our chance to get it is not that high. On the turn we have 47 cards left and only 9 of them are from the same suit that we need so our chance is around 19%. On the river chance is around 20%. That is the best case when none of the suit cards is in any of the other players which most probably will not be the case.

Suits can be exciting , but they don't work all the time...but i like chasing them myself, especially if i get suited connecters for a straight draw. Just play em safe

Hey. I advise you to study the theory of probability. You'll receive a flush on the flop in 87 out of 10,000 cases (0.87%). You will collect your flush to the river in 64 cases out of 1000 (6.4%). What happens during the session is not important. Theoretically, you can't once a month not catch a flush. You can also collect flush all day, but the opponent will have a stronger flush, etc.

I know about the probabilities and stuff, I play them cheap, it's not that I lost much to that.
But recently it was just too obvious, I get dealt suited card in more than every second hand,
There are 4 colours, 25% makes every 4th hand.
What I was heading to is that I am led to the pot too many times, poker sites have updated to
make people more active with "attractive" starting hands.
And I'm not talking about 69s or something.I played Aces, Kings and queens only, to have a chance with the high card.
I shuffled a real deck 100 times well and dealt a 9 hand table.
GUESS, how many times I got 3 same suits on the flop???ZERO!!!
Have you played on 888 or PS recently?:rock:

They should come up with something better than deciding the winner by a one card flush.

I read somewhere that if on the flop there is 2 diamonds for expample and you have in hand 2 diamonds,chances of hitting flush on turn or river are like 34%,so you should hit it every third time,you got very unlucky..

I believe you did not throw enough hands to consider yourself out of the way, since the chances of hitting a flush on the flop are 1 in 120 hands

it happens. some days it seems like I miss every draw I have no matter how strong/ how many outs I have. Just have to continue playing good and the numbers will even out.

Don't play suited cards JUST because they're suited of course. Play good suited hands in good position and for the right price. Open raise with suited hands like A8+, K10+, QJ, J9+, 10/9, etc. or even 56, 67, 78, 89, and in the big blind you can defend a wider range like A2, K5, Q6, J7, 10/8, stuff like that.

That's interesting that you kept a record. I would never think of doing this. Can I throw in any suited cards or does it have to be connectors? I play suited ace if I can see it cheaply .

I try and look at where suited cards fit into my pre-flop ranges and how they play on different board textures. Backdoor flushes and straights can make great bluffing hands against the right type of opponent.

every poker player has there bad days, weeks or even months. you cant let that discourage you. you have to use it as a learning experience. just like life, some experiences might be hard.

but you have to stick through it.

I have never had a royal flash ...)))
But I play and now in poker ...)
Very often the flash comes on weak hands ...
but you need to play these hands very carefully ...
