It appears to me that the good poker players, who win most of the time, are somewhat surerior. That does not include me.
It is an attitude of superiority that is obvious to others.

Am I right about this, or is this just my imagionation.?

If everyone is relatively equal in poker knowledge, then superior players are looking for spots to put their chips to work to build a stack where many of us become risk adverse and get outplayed as we 'protect' our chips...

If we take knowledge out of it, because there only so much one can learn about poker.. the "superiority" has to cone from luck and tenacity.

What you seem to be talking about is more related to personality traits rather than poker skill/knowledge..! ;)

I find that superior poker players show Narcissistic traits.

part of this game is mental preparation, the best hands in which you have to wait for an evolution of the hand to win even if favorable or unfavorable you have to be prepared to play hard and without hesitation, it is not only a card game, but also one of emotions and tendencies.

Maybe a little more confidence. Exercise and repetition help with this.

I have played with some really good players. Why some attempt to show there superiororiy some are actually very modest players who care to help others.

This understanding of "superiority" seems to me rather abstract. Self-control is important to achieve self-esteem in line with constant victories.

I think Tracid is the closest to the correct answer. Just look at the live games at the highest level.

Personality aside, superior players tend to play the players as much, if not more than, they play the cards. Yes, many will try to intimidate you, some all the time, others not so much. I've noticed many players with an attitude of superiority that weren't superior at all. And when they lost they invariably blamed the winner, accusing him or her of making a stupid play, thus maintaining their pseudo superiority.

If you wish to watch a true poker superstar who doesn't put on the least air of superiority then watch Barry Greenstein. His strength comes from not allowing himself to be intimidated, rather then being intimidating.

It is the right game that a good poker player must play! If you were him, would you spare your opponent knowing that he is weaker than you?
