I've been doing the MTT @ Showboat lately.
Anyone know of single table tournaments in the area?

I prefer Tournaments due to the fact that you have a better chance of winning a decent amount of cash. In cash games you can lose it all too quickly, you should enjoy some quaility time on a poker website instead of losing all you're money on a few hands.

Are there any reputable money sites left for US players?

I like tournaments because you get more with putting less money at risk.

In long run the only way to make it in the poker world is a BIG tournament win. But cash games are necessary in order to keep you bankroll up. You're always less likely to win in a mtt but when you do, its all downhill

they may take too long but ask any pro or consistent card player....Their longest session is always a cash game.

tourneys are easier in my opinion, everyone has the same starting chips so you don't see bullying until someone doubles up. It's easier to set a goal that way (okay gonna make it to at least third to triple my buy in) rather than, i can't leave until I win my money back.

i agree with all of you. and yes there are loads of sites that except US players. Bovada, anything on the Merge Network ( Hero, Carbon, FeltStars, BlackChip, etc), and BetOnline to name a few.

Its completely absurd that the insanely high Vigorish levels for small buyin MTTs live(im guessing youre playing smaller buy in ones) aren't being mentioned at all.

Vigs of 15+25% are common and take much of the value of a tournament out before even beginning one.

Tournaments with vig like that are fun, and maybe even marginally profitable if the players are LOLbad, but overall the money is always going to be in cash.

After having taken a break from the RM Poker scene for a couple of years. I've been playing SNGs to get back into the swing of things.

It changes your mindset completely. It goes from wanting the highest chip stack to just surviving long enough to cash in profit.

When i played on line I used to love tourneys and hate cash now it's the other way around. i still play tourneys but I've just been getting crushed in them. Live cash is much more profitable and I can leave whenever I want.

tounries 4 me guess i like too play alot of hands which doesnt work out well on cash tables!
What?! Playing a lot of a hands is definitely not a tournament strategy. Not sure at all what you mean by that. Multi-tabling tournies can be rough too bc sh/hu on multiple tables can be frustrasting. If you like to play a lot of hand you multi cash.
Stay away from "tounries" lol

Cash game = more skill and MTT = more gamble.

I prefer cash, but that's because tourneys around me are generally small and offer little EV after their 20%+ rake.

I prefer tournaments in detriment of cash games because i usually play SNGs and MTTs and because of the payoffs ( when u win a tournament u get paid off like 50x,100x ,300x or more depending on the prize pools). But that doesnt mean i dont play cash games as well :) (if u want to be a winning poker player u need to learn to play well all poker formats )
