Vegas - busy in week or not?

Buddy of mine is saying Vegas isnt really that big during the week in terms of nightlife.

Any truth in this?

Which week? Christmas, New Years, or Halloween? Completely busy. Random September weekday with no huge conference in town, meh not so much.
