The variance on poker is real.. if you can't accept that then you better take a looong time to try to put that in your mind. Bad beat happens.. and I'll tell you more, if you play more than one screen at a time, bad beats will happen even more often. But see if you keep making the best decisions, when the math runs well to you, you will be ITM quite often.. cuz bad beats reach others just the same way it reaches you.
Play the math, not the cards

Keep most of your bankroll off the poker sites this is the best way to avoid losing it in my opinion.
If it is in play it is at risk and the tilt monster is real.

No war or tilting problem going on here. Either you made a bad call, which can be evaluated and move on. Bad beats happen both ways, part of poker. Stay positive, control those things you can and don't sweat the small stuff.

Two books helped me a lot. The mentality of the Poker player and the other is Emotional Intelligence, by Daniel Goleman. It helped me a lot to improve my game. Cheers!

right after a bad beat, get up take a small walk from the table. miss the next few flops and think of all the good things in your life, everything that makes you happy and everything you are grateful for. then return and continue as if nothing had happened.

My "favorite weapon", is to stop playing for that session. If you are aware you are on tilt, and you can't seem to shake it, stop playing. Ideally, until the next day.

If I feel tilt, I stop playing and take a break. A break in such cases prevents significant losses.

Do sports, do a couple of exercises, beat a Boxing bag, push-UPS, load yourself physically, this is one of the best weapons against defeats that you can't control.

You need to distract yourself, switch.

It is best to study to try to control emotions. I recommend "The mentality of the poker player" and also a book that helped me a lot is "The emotional intelligence" by Daniel Goleman. And once in the game, you shouldn't go in with all your bank and play at suitable tables, which allow you to recover from a losing streak.

my advice is to play on a bankroll, if you started to lose you need to go down a limit below.

Controling my emotions and patience are the weapons to deal with tilt, which it comes and it ends after a while. It is natural, it is a sequence!

I have to just stop playing or else I will tilt it all off. I'm usually fine the next day.

I stop playing, preferably for a long time.
At least for a few days you need to escape from poker.

I recently reevaluated what I consider a "beat". Is it really unlucky when AK loses to 87? Or 99 loses to KJ? Or when top pair loses to an open ended straight draw?

Take some time to run these examples in Equilab. You'll find that you lose a lot more often than you think you should. That is you're SUPPOSED to lose. QQ is supposed to lose to AKs 46% of the time. That means you're going to get it in good and lose 46 times out of 100, with those odds, can you really call it a beat? The answer is no. Fact is you got your chips in good and the cards didn't fall your way. You should be happy with that because 54 time out of 100 you're going to win, which means in the long run, you will win money.

Sometimes the odds will be even more in your favour and you will lose, and sometimes you will be the one that gets it in bad and will win.

The moral of the story is that luck will have a short term impact on individual hands, but as long as you played the hand correctly and got your chips in good then there should be no need to tilt, unless of course, you flop quad 9's get it all in, your opponent turns over KK and then hits runner runner kings, then you are entitled to throw your mouse at the wall and your computer out the window :)

Many opponents make you go on tilt for being aggressive, for talking, or even for showing your cards unnecessarily, whether these cards are good or bad, as both have the same mental effect on your head.

You have to avoid coming into direct confrontation with these people and taking as many notes as possible. If you lose anyway, it's the game and you at least did your part.

Take more notes because this villain is manic and you will find him for sure at other tables.

honestly, i just shrug it off. bad beats aren't as bad as many make them to be.

also, losing is a huge part of the game. in fact, you're going to lose a ton, especially if you play mtts. just look at the a decent itm rate of 20%, that means you're not cashing in 4/5 mtts you play. are you really going to get upset over that? seems a bit silly to let that bother you.

I think the best way to do that is to stop and analyze: if it is the game's variance, you have nothing to do, just keep playing and the results will come back, now if you are playing badly you have to stop playing and start playing study the points of the game you are missing, to win again and make the graph go up :rock::rock:

Reading every topic in search of the answer. The only thing that works for me is having a small bank available and not having a deposit facility. They say that getting up and walking is good, but sitting back down is still bent.
