A friend of mine is really good at poker.
But he lies at almost everything he says, I don't know whats true, and whats not.
So... Can we trust a good pokerplayer?

How do you know he's lying... when you don't know that what he says is true and what isn't...

In your situation, your friend does not trust you if he is obliged to lie to you in everything, otherwise he is a bad friend.

The truth is, a really good poker player rarely lies, because they want to have the opportunity to do so when they need/want to. Your friend is more of a boy who cries wolf scenario and just can't be trusted in general.

Lying in everyday situations and lying in a pokergame are two entirely different shoes.
However a friend who lies all the time is not really a friend is he?
I mean I don't know the dynamic between you two maybe he does it for fun cause you can never tell what's true . Sounds annoying ^^

Poker is a hustle. Don’t trust anyone. After poker is the time for trust again.

Whether a person is a good poker player or not, does not determine if you can trust them. I would not trust the person you are talking about. But I know good poker players that I feel I can trust with anything. And I know good poker players that I would not trust for anything. You have to judge whether you can trust each person, on their own merits.

I don't know if it's just a joke or if we should really answer the question.

Obviously there is no correlation between being a good poker player and telling the truth or lying in everyday life.

A good player may not always be a good person. If your friend lies to you, then he is not your friend and you should not rely on such a person. Can a good player be a bad friend, of course, he can.

My opinion in the game and in two different people's lives
the game can be good at just being a liar

I dont consider bluffing in poker to be lying, it's just a way to play your hand in a card game. Therefore I wouldn't link the two.

I have had similar experiences... It lies so much that it is not even felt.

Trust a person who lies to you?
Strange question. It is better not to do things that you will later regret.

For me a good poker player is to be trusted off the poker table; however, not while playing poker. I tend to compartmentalize things.

I suppose most good players have to be good liars in that when they bluff they are trying to sell you a story where they have you beat, when in fact the opposite is true! But it doesn't necessarily mean they are Liars in every other aspect of daily life.
I have some great Friends that will try and bluff when playing Poker, but I would trust them with my life when it comes to more important things, I know from experience that some will show a bluff when they make one just to stay honest, but I except that Poker is just a game, and it's fun to make a bluff now and again.
Many children played "Cowboys and Indians" when they were younger, but that does not make them natural born Killers, in reality many would not even own a gun in later life, Because like Poker, War games on computers or other devices are just games!
Every time I see a car chase on TV news channels my immediate thought is "another damned idiot that played too much GTA on the X-Box" most responsible adults simply pull over and accept that they may or may not have committed a crime, it could be something as simple as you have a tail light out!
Being good at Poker does not mean you are a natural Liar! You are just good at playing a Fun Game!

Good poker players don't have friends. :ROFLMAO: And seriously, there is no clear correlation that the better a poker player is, the more he lies. No! You can't trust anyone! But I can.;)

That's hard to say. It depends on how much you understand the game and realize if he's lying or not.
