At what age did you start playing poker? And at what age did you start taking poker serious(or whatever highest level you think is serious)?

i had relatives family play two weekly days sat and sun with domino's poker owners like 20 people two table games. They would have big bottles full of change thousands of dollars so i read up on poker rules and asked my dad to let me play with paper delivery money. He did I was 11 and would take a couple hundred down right off the start. I will tell you was guys with guns and ultra big fat hairy guys scared the crap out of me wondering if they would let me leave for the first few years lol

I started playing at a pretty early age, probably since I could count numbers and knew which cards were what. My grandpa taught me, so me and him used to play for pennies, but we didn't play texas holdem, it was more night base ball, day baseball, Deuces Jacks and the Man with the Ax that was his favorite. my grandparents used to play every Sat night, with a group of friends for just nickel's pennies, dime's just pocket change. sometimes they'd let me play with them other times it was just head's up with my grandpa. we played a game called 44. my grandpa had 4 Queens but I beat him with my 4 Kings lol. I then probably either in my pre teens or possibly my teens read up on a book I found at my grandparents place with tournament strategies for Texas hold'em. Grew up with family games, I was allowed to sit on my own at 13, but had no clue what was going on! Took me a year to realize a flush beats a straight haha. Just starting taking poker seriously 2 months ago, looking forward to lots of learning on the tables and this forum!

Like many at my age (28) around 2004 in HS after moneymaker won in 03. I miss those days. Poker was much more fun despite knowing way way less. More characters.

I have started to play at 21( now I'm 27)! I think if you want to play very well you should start at 15-16, to analyse maths variety)

I started playing when I was 16, my dad had a company picnic with a grand-prize of $200 for a field of 50 or so players. It was a mountain of money to me and I was hooked after I won. I played a lot of free money games and would build up huge stacks of free chips until I turned 18. It was a huge adjustment transitioning to even small stakes tournaments or cash games where people played much differently and I did not do well when I first started playing for money.

Personally I started playing poker when I was about 16 years old on a website called club pogo. I then moved on to facebook poker for like 7-8 years and then I started playing for real money 9 years in and have been doing so for the past year or so. I am 25 years young now

I believe I hit my ten year anniversary sometime this or last month.
