Hello, my friends. Lately, I've often wondered. Which country is best for online and offline poker player?

Such aspects as climate, household resources, places for recreation are very individual, I understand. Each person has different preferences and needs. But still, where officially and proudly can I say that I play and earn poker? Where are there no restrictions? Where can you live and enjoy the fact that you are doing what you love?

My opinion is USA and Argentina. I am very interested in hearing your opinion. Which country would you choose?

online poker isn't even legal in the USA and it's taxed so it's certainly not there.

No idea which country I'd choose to be honest but USA would be near the bottom(unless one only plays live). One thing I can say is living in Canada it's pretty nice that gambling and poker winnings are completely tax free and we Canadians(outside Ontario) can legally play on any site. Too bad the cost of living is so expensive. Otherwise I'd choose Canada 110%. Tax free being huge.

Surely there's another country where gambling and poker winnings are tax free, the cost living less then Canada and where it's legal to play on any site. So I'm looking forward to this post and getting educated.

Cheers!!!

Scandinavia. Winnings are tax free. Otherwise we pay about 50% tax of our income. Still, you have no tuiton fee to study at University etc. - you actually get paid for studying. Healthcare costs zero.

For live poker? Because it certainly isn't the best for online.

For online and Live it'd be two completely different places.
For LIVE play I'd choose Vegas & other parts of the USA but for Online it'd be close to the bottom of the list.
My prerequisites would be
1) Cheap place to live
2) Easy to Deposit & WD from sites
3) Able to play on all sites
4) Good internet connection

I see some online guys who moved away from the USA years ago (and others who moved from U.K.) who now reside in Costa Rica, Latvia, Thailand, Mexico.
Scroll down the GG Poker tournament lobby for some of the HiRoller events and you'll get your answer (maybe even better to check the LSMTT & MSMTT lobbys).

According to Google. Countries where poker winnings are tax free(not in any kind of order):
1) Austria
2) UK
3) Canada
4) Sweden
5) Malta
6) Germany
7) Italy
8) Australia
9) Belgium
10) Bulgaria
11) Czech Republic
12) Denmark
13) Finland
14) Hungary
15) Luxemburg
16) Romania

Now which one of these countries has the best quality of life, free healthcare and the lowest cost of living?

Cheers!!!

This isn't terrible despite me not likely the cold that much. Along with Denmark and Finland Scandinavia is in the running. 50% tax on income thou OUCH! I'd likely lean more towards Finland as I also enjoy sim-racing and most Finns are lightening fast when it comes to sim-racing. Maybe they'll rub off on me :ROFLMAO:.

Healthcare costs being zero HUGE plus. At almost 52 not sure what I might want to study but if you're going too pay me I'll find something.
The wife is blonde......goddammit I'm going to be in trouble :ROFLMAO:.

Cheers!!!

Well I don't know where it is but I know it for damn sure isn't the land of the free....

poker isn't legal here but for a few states, the rest are banned from most sites,

off the top of my head I would go with The Bahamas or Malta or some other

tropical place with poker, beaches, democracy and low taxes👍

Why on earth would you say USA? That has to be down near the bottom! I am from Canada and things are not bad here for poker unless you are from Ontario.

In a poll Finland over the past two years is said to have the most happy people with Denmark as the runner up. It is much colder in Finland unless you are in a sauna, which every household has! You might not choose Norway and Sweden since you can’t buy alcohol in stores. Instead you have buy this in pharmacies. Romania is widely regarded as the most corrupt and also the poorest country in The EU alongside Bulgaria. Hungary is run by a fascist clown called Victor Orban - a buddy of Vladimir Putin. Northern Italy would be a good choice whereas the southern part is Godfather territory.

México, tax free and you’ll have a nice live style because you’ll earn usd and spend in Mexican pesos, living in Mexico is way cheaper than in us.

Wow nice. Thanks for the informative reply as I'm not much of a world traveller didn't know some of that. very interesting. Not much of a drinker(just socially). Do like to buy a bottle of decent scotch now and again though.

Just for shits and giggles been comparing countries using the link below. And I'm honestly quite surprised how well Canada actually rates/ranks compared to the other gambling/poker tax free options if you already live here. If one doesn't I wouldn't move here. Housing crisis and healthcare being major issues right now and neither of them issues have easy short term fixes. The fixes are 5+ years down the road.

If I was moving for poker Scandinavia, Belgium, Malta and maybe N.Italy would likely be my top 4 choices. I don't think I could handle the Finland cold. Scandinavia might be too cold.

Cheers!!!

Personally, the perfect option for me is Canada! First of all, I like the frosty climate of this country. Secondly, the Ukrainian community in Canada is quite large. Thirdly, online poker is allowed. Fourthly, weed is legalized. Fifth, Canada is unlikely to go to war with anyone in the future, so it is safe country.

For me and the wife I got it neared down too the below. Thankfully every country/city has ocean and water nearby or the wife wouldn't be interested at all. In no particular order:
Scandinavia. Just outside of Oslo somewhere. South equals as warm as it's gonna get :ROFLMAO:.
Belgium, Northern part. Bussels or above.
Italy, Northern part above San Marino. Close to the ocean/water and close to the rest of Europe.
Malta. Idk living on Island would be really different. Ocean/water everywhere the wife will love it :ROFLMAO:.

Fun excise a bit too old and rooted here for this now. Some nice vacation spots though.

Cheers!!!

The United States is often considered the best country for poker players, both online and in person, due to its large poker scene with tournaments and famous casinos, including Las Vegas. Argentina is also popular, especially for those looking for a more relaxed and affordable lifestyle. However, the best option for you will depend on your individual needs and preferences, so I recommend researching different countries and considering factors such as cost of living, visa requirements, and the availability of poker tournaments and casinos. Having said that, I think Argentina would be the last option, I would say Thailand or Taiwan, the cost of living is cheap.

I was honestly a bit surprised how well Canada matchs up against the rest of the countries listed as tax free. If it wasn't for the housing crisis and it being almost impossible to find a family doctor and with how backed up the healthcare system is I'd rank Canada easy top 5 and maybe even top 4. There's a lot worst choices on the list.

I know a Ukrainian who works at our local grocery store. Big able looking guy(I say that as a guy who's 6'3 and able looking) I wouldn't mess with him. But one the nicest hardest working people the store has. Good guy. Not at all how Ukrainian's are portrayed on tv and in movies. Other then being big dudes :ROFLMAO:.

Cheers!!!

In brick and mortar poker the US might be the best, but online! Are you serious? Online gambling and poker is illegal in almost all of USA. You can’t play for hard currency. So online you can only play with Funny money which equals bingo since it is a calling frenzy. Showdown Hell. But Heaven for calling stations who are the most constant losers when they play for real bucks.

I've never researched about this topic, but I remember to read that some professional poker players lives in Macau, because you can play both online and live poker, with many options of casino. Also, I think the taxes are fair. USA is not good, unless you don't care about online poker. Argentina I really don't know about.

Bahamas or Aruba... mainly because they have nice poker rooms there where major poker tours still come around to, and for online poker, playing poker on a beach on an island in beautiful weather sounds really nice.
