What is the "Dealers Choice"?

I was looking at the schedule and list of events for the wsop and see that one event is

I have heard the term before but never thought about what it actually means.

Is it literally, the dealer decides what game is played each orbit? Or how this works?

Growing up we played dealers choice at all our home games & yes that is exactly what it means. We rotated the deal one position left each hand & dealer announced what game he was dealing.

Well this is quite simple.
Dealer's choice is simply that the "Dealer"(this term is the same as the Button) decides which game (of the list of games they had decided upon at the start of the game) is to be played that hand.So it just changes every hand of-course depending if the Dealer changes the game or not. So whom ever wins a hand becomes the Button(Dealer) of the coming hand and he decides.
This type of game takes usually longer than the normal games as NLHE or even mixed games.

Oh yes btw the game that is changed every orbit is called MIXED games.

As mentioned - the button decides which game to play.

Sometimes the player chooses a game they are strongest at.

Sometimes the player chooses a game they know other players are weakest at - even though it may not be the button's strongest game.

Not sure about this event but the button itself should be a plaque that states the game. And that plaque is changed as needed - possibly every hand.

Dealers Choice was a game by Parkers Brothers if I remember correctly where you could sell used cars for blue book or list price. It was quite a good game.I played that one a lot.
