Hello people! I imagine that each player will have their own techniques or attitudes to overcome the tilt, and I think it would be interesting to share them.
I try to remind myself that it is a game and that losing or making mistakes is not the end of the world, but sometimes I have to stop playing a couple of days to get over it. And you, do you have any technique?

Wash your face, deep breaths, reaffirmation. Go over your play goals and strat outloud.

Water and oxygen. Calms any temper and that's all it is. You've just lost your temper.

My method is similar to yours. For me, in such cases it is better to take a break, at least for several hours. After a break, I always feel better and, as a rule, my emotions are under my control.

When you enter tilt the first thing you should do is stop playing.
Enter tilt means losing the necessary emotional balance, we must have when we sit down to play.
This horrible feeling is a mixture of negative factors such as anger, despair, impotence, frustration and feeling of loss of control.
Facing this point it is essential to stop and stop playing.
The tilt can last for hours or days, then it is necessary to take complete comfort, before returning to play.
My strategy against tilt is to take a break and stop playing poker.
I play again when I feel normal mood. Without any negative external factor.
Greetings.

Honestly, I think, proper bankroll management can help, that the feeling of tilt doesn't show up at all. Loosing is part of the game and you should not be affected emotionally by this. But when you are emotionally affected somehow by the game, then it is surely better to take a break.

If I feel tilt, I stop playing and just go for a walk. Fresh air helps me cope with negative emotions.

You need to get yourself out of the uncontrolled state in any case. If you do nothing, you can very quickly lose all the chips and further aggravate the situation.
I try to play only in a good mood. If I have a quarrel with someone, someone offended or angry, I try not to go into the game. Reason must prevail over emotion, not the other way around. In this case, it is better to calm down and relax. I'm taking a break from the game. This rule applies to any occupation. Rest is necessary in any case. Without at least the shortest breaks, vigilance is lost and the necessary level of control is lost. It is enough to take a break for 15-20 minutes between each game session.

usually its too late to do anything when you are on tilt. i think that even professional players get it on!!! when im playing serious and get a bad beat i usually leave the computer for a minute. breath, have some water( depending on the day of the week a beer). come back and play your game. sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. but the most important is that you learn.

good luck

of course I stop playing. I change the ideas with another activity that allows me to relax. I also speak to my unconscious by repeating the same sentence several times in a row "I am happy" .... after a while I am again in a good mood and near to replay.

Its not wrong to take a few days off, you know. In fact time off is just one of the most effective ways to balance oneself again to play great. Quick fixes like cold shocking your body or doing burst training may help a lot too for some. But in the end, if there is something that provides more fix than others it is spending time off for yourself or with friends and family or simply doing something else.

One time I was told by a pretty good poker player that what he does is knit up really hard where he will start by playing only queens and up for about ten hands and then slowly opening back up to his normal range about every ten hands.

That is an interesting idea too. But to be able to do it, one would have to have a lot of self control and the loss of that is often part of the tilt

Hi.
If I understand that I have a tilt, I immediately stop the game. In my opinion, this is the only option that will allow me to avoid losses.
Good luck.

I'm angry. Then I calm. Then continue to play. And so in a circle to infinity.

Had a huge problem when first getting started with poker in regards to emotions at the table. More I played, read and understood the game, less it affected me. Play a lot less now than then, it might have something to do with it, but it is non-factor.

odds will dictate the fate of a hand. You may have done everything absolutely correct, but didn't get favorable results. It is part of the game, in the long run it does even out. Creating or allowing negative energy is a huge waste of time. It does nothing once the hand is over.

I'm firm believer it will only prohibit the potential you will achieve, by allowing it to affect you at the table and there after.

If we talk about an mtt that does not work well, clearly change the game style! If we talk for a few days in a row, I accept them! I have learned over time, as in poker, the game is spinning and that the good days will come!

I have the same method against tilt. I just stop playing for a couple of days. But I also noticed that tilt does not apply to home games.
