I can't hero call to save my life, it requires more balls than I have.

For me it's the bluff. Hard to fire that River bullet when you didnt connect... Even if you know it's the only way to win the pot.

The hero call can be a bit easier if youve played with the villian before and have a feel for his range and game.

Obv the Hero call is the hardest.Because you have 0 FE.But you should have a damn good reason and know why it's a good reason to do either of them.
Edit:Hero call is like K high on the river etc.

Hero call is tougher for me.
When I river bluff, I have some certainty after playing a few hands with that player that it will work. I never 100% certain but Im right most of the time, with the read I get.
Hero call is really difficult cause if after playing with the player, I still not sure if he has the goods or not unless he was called in the previous hand and I could see what hands he was playing and know it was a bluff or if he shows a bluff to make apparent he`s capable of a bluff.
With new players that I never played I have with I can not assume anything

This is live cash games, not sure how it translates, but I have found it a lot easier to make my river bluff look more like a value bet rather than an outright barrell. I play $2/5 and I've found more people lay down a hand for a $15-$20 bet than for an all-in shove almost irrespective of how much is in the pot.

Ive been Playing at Cake for the last few months. Mainly SnG's and MTT's and I swear it seems like you cant get people off of a hand there no matter what there holding. Bottom pair or anything better. So I've almost decided that avoiding an all out bluff might be best approach in some of these cheaper tourneys.

well it's def. easier to hero bluff than hero call, IMO

problem with the hero call, esp. if you consider yourself a good player is that you still feel you can comeback, so long as you have chips ... once that last chip goes into the pot ... your fate is left up to the poker gods

with a hero bluff, it's more strategic, especially when you have represented strength throughout the hand, but the hero bluff loses it's power if you are pot committed and your opponent knows that or if you have shown a few bluffs or if your opponent is getting good pot odds to call

It is much easier to bluff, you are putting your opponent to a decision. Once you decide to make a tough call, the hand is over with, and you have to deal with the results.
