I love the competition. I've been a competition junkie my entire life, whether it's competing against others, and/or competing against myself. Playing poker is like my superbowl, my NBA championship, my Masters, only I get to do it every day of the week.

Getting it in miles ahead at crucial point in Tournament... setting villain & inducing them to make theeee worst play possible & then having them hit a HUGE LONGSHOT MIRACLE & walking away feeling just CRUSHED!!!

I like how the concepts can be applied to real life, risk-reward, thinking in how many variables take part before deciding something and so on.

I played chess and other strategy games for years. I didn't think of poker as a deeply strategic game, and kind of frowned upon gambling.

A friend who is a poker enthusiast turned me onto an open courseware class by MIT on Poker Theory and Analytics.

That peaked my interest, and now I'm hooked.

I'm constantly amazed at how many new and interesting things there are to learn.

Right now, the only thing I don't like about Poker is how it's a zero-sum game. Meaning, in order to make money, you have to take it from someone else by exploiting their mistakes.

Because of that, the tournament format appeals to me the most.

I'm not interested in becoming a "shark" and going out to look for cash games with easy "fish" to prey on. (As sexy as it sounds. ha)

UUuuuu there are more then couple of things i like about poker:
1. Patience- i have never been very patience, and poker has thought me that
2. Puttin the story together- back tracking the hand to put as good as a picture u can to make the right choice at a given situation
3. Reading tells- basicly reading people when they lie

4. Always, always ask WHY- coz nothing happens without a reason, there are no coincidence`s

5. BRM-also helps with your financial situation, better understanding it, and better managing your money
And other little things, but those are my 5 main reasons why i love POKER, lets not forget also the money factor
