Im on SB with A/3 off (13bb)

But the button make an Open Raise to 2bb with 7bb behind

8 max table. Tournament. Microlimits

I folded… it was fine?

Honestly, I think folding A3 offsuit there was the right move — and that’s exactly what I would’ve done too. At microlimits, I’ve seen so many players make that kind of small raise with 7 BB left as a trap, especially with hands like AA, KK, or even strong Broadway combos. It’s like they’re begging for a shove.

With 13 BB in the small blind, I really don’t want to reshove into that unless I’m holding something stronger. A3o is just too weak — I’d feel dominated way too often, and I don’t want to flip unnecessarily when I still have fold equity and better spots ahead.

So yeah, I’d fold there every time. Good discipline on your part!

Yes, your fold is fine — and likely the best play.
Folding A3o vs an effective 9bb BTN shove is standard. You’re not missing much EV here. Good discipline.
