Poker teaches patience. It can also help with the skill of reading people and calling people on their BS. Ha Ha. What life lessons has poker taught you?

You need to be patient. This is the key thing in poker. Poker teached me to take control over myself, but sometimes it,s really hard to do.

Poker has taught me to remain calm in difficult life situations and to better assess different perspectives.

I mostly play mtts and no matter how good you play at some point you have to risk even for your entirely tournament life. You have to risk in real life too if you want to go further.

Apparently you can get from chip leader to stort stack and vise versa! So don't take anything for granted in life too and be thankful for what you already got!

And last but not least we are all able here to play poker! So I guess we are all lucky in some way!!! :)

Think long, think wrong. Just make a choice, and go with your gut.

Mostly I've learned not to count my chickens before they hatch and how to deal with adversity. ;)

Lots of good examples of positive things like patience, planning, perseverance and just how to study a topic and improve yourself.

Also there are negative things you learn (how many problem gamblers and scammers there are for instance), but that's to be expected in anything involving money.

Good luck to you! :D

There are a lot of capable players out there. I know we tend to focus on the poor play of some, but really, the level of play of so many players and the diversity of styles never ceases to impress.

Sometimes life is not fair and there's nothing you can do about it; so do the best you can, accept that sometimes things won't go your way, and move on.
