My husband introduced me to poker online. I did not understand why he was always on the computer playing poker, and at times it annoyed me. So I decided to try it out and see what all the hubbub was about. He showed me the basics and so my own poker journey began. I mainly play for the pleasure of it.

Back in the 60s alot of my friends got together on the weekends and played poker.Back then it was 7 card stud and 5 card draw,thats what everyone played.So i was intoduced to poker at a early age.When online poker started,i started playing texas holdem.It was nice to play against people from all over the world.A big change from playing with the guys on the weekend.When you get older,and not being able to do the things you are used to,playing poker lets you be on a even field with everyone.

Age

I played a lot of sports growing up and have a real competitive nature. As I got older and am unable to run and jump I need an outlet for my competitive streak. Then one of my ex-girlfriends introduced me to Texas Holdem. I also have a little OCD in me. So I dove into learning everything I could about Texas Holdem. I love a really good competitive poker game!!

like alot of people i watched on espn back in early 90 and went down to local card room and started playing live free rolls once a week before I knew what a laptop was but I like the competition

Just like I said, I used to play a lot of casino and was constantly losing. One day à friend of mine sat down to play poker, at the time the only poker game I know,was from watching cowboys movies with lot of fights. Anyway,I started learning and found that I have some talent to be successful.

it is like that Sometimes we think we will earn so much more money we ended up forgetting the essentials that lead us to know, the path, the studies. it's your story when you enter Pouquer which is real, everyone thinks so

I always played some kind of "game of chance and skill" be it different card games, playing pool, etc...
I used to play for money at the local firehouse which I was a member. Way before it became what it is today, back then if you wanted to play some serious poker...it came with a chance of being beaten and robbed. A lot harder to do that if I play online. lol

I started playing many years ago when I was working in the mines. We used to play Manila then, similar to Holdem.
Then they had it at the local Casino, then I found online poker. I wasn't very good at it, but was enjoying it.
Now it is banned in Australia. I tried rejoining party poker the other day but it wouldn't let me download it.
Have to wait until the local Casino starts playing again.

I was playing a lot of online chess. My wife said that she was surprised I did not play poker. I did not how to play but thought why not give it a try. So I joined PKR and learned the basics. Tens of thousands of hands in on different rooms and i am still learning but love every minute. Still play chess though!

Same here lol. I love crunching numbers so dealing with pot odds and constantly assessing your risk vs reward seemed like a lot of fun. I used to gamble a lot in the stockmarket, and gambling in poker can at least be just as fun and cheaper too.
