A great player in general, he studies a lot and after that, the main thing is patience to make the best moves ...:LOL:

Most of us will never know the answer to this question, and there will only be assumptions. I think that some of the most successful players have paranormal powers.

First and foremost is discipline. To discard bad cards, to be able to get out of the game when it is necessary. Analyze the game and work on your mistakes.
Proper bankroll management. Know how to properly manage your money.
Always learning.
Watch educational videos, read books, etc.
In general, there should be a lot of qualities, I listed only the main ones.

You won't be a good no-limit player until you understand what it means to be a good no-limit player. Many attempts to answer the question, "What makes someone a good player?" and remain virtually unanswered. The strange but true thing is that even many very experienced players cannot explain what makes one player more successful than another. Hand reading is a much more complex skill than just knowing your own cards and the cards of your opponents. It is the ability to penetrate the thoughts of one's opponent.

No your role basically don't try to play a higher stakes game if it's going to make you play scared. This may seem obvious but I can't count how many times I've seen people come to a table and not have enough money to play comfortable because everyone else has more money in front of them and bullets at the window if needed. Nothing wrong with playing the one two or five 10 tables if you only got a couple thousand with you. Too many times people will buy in with the minimum amount and try and play bingo and double up early so they can actually compete with the others and 9 out of 10 times they just blow their entire buy in. Then you have the mathematical players and the gut feeling players which I feel both methods are fine if it's what the player is most comfortable with. I hate when people think they're better players just because they can run off all the statistics in math of every situation instantly but just knowing you have better odds of hitting something doesn't mean you're going to hit it so technically you would think playing the mess gives you a better chances but it also keeps you from making of hero call here or there to win a massive pot that someone goes with because they felt it in their gut

Both (good player and better player) are built on the same fundamentals. The force with which you apply these fundamentals is what dictates who is good and who is better.
1- Discipline is fundamental.
2- Patience is fundamental
3- Knowing when to bet, call the bet or run away is fundamental
4- Knowing your Outs doesn't mean knowing exactly how many cards are in the deck to make your hand. But it is fundamental that you have a rough idea of what your odds are.
5- Studying ALL the hands you play and (or) watch is fundamental. You can have 1000000 hands played and still know less than someone who has played 20000 hands but is always looking to learn from experience.
6- Premium hands are the best. But is fundamental to know when you should drop them.
7- Luck is always welcome, but it is fundamental that it is expendable

I think the main difference is the study and time that a professional dedicates to improving his poker, I have read several books and I am always keeping statistics of the successes and errors that I have made in a tournament, that has helped me a lot to improve my game.

The biggest difference is the balance on the bank account.
If you gamble you will never be a better player. If you play for fun with no consequences for the family, it is possible to achieve something.

The most important thing is patience. I think several people have already said that. I think you go from good to great when you can read other people.

I think that a very good poker player is seen through the careful administration of the bankroll, the patience at the tables / tournaments and of course the balance of money which is plus and not minus :)

what makes a good poker player is he knows all the math involved in the game, the basics, his own range of hands and the villain's range.

what will make this player better will be studying poker all the time, applying moves according to his opponent, hitting that hero call or hero fold, and having an accurate reading of his opponent.

Patience and consistency. Especially in Zoom games, where there is no dynamic like in tournaments, I find it hard to go back to the grind every day.
