In my oppinion, experience is the answer.
Experience summarizes a lot of the answers we would be tempted to give on this question. Answers as: discipline, reading opponent, reading the game, learn from mistakes, emotions, bankroll, etc.
With experience, you improve all of these above.

For me, it is fun, but I also try to play mindful, that is,not just following my scheme but also reading theoretical articles and trying new strategies from time to time.

Money. Money. Money. Well, among other things, the process itself is addictive, like a drug. But the most enjoyable moments in this game are when you play a cool hand.

Seriously the most important thing for me is getting a good read on one or two players on my table, especially aggressive players. I do very well against aggressive players. On the downside of that, if I struggle to get a read on one or two opponents at my table, my game suffers and my odds of doing well go down..... Same thing if I am moving tables a lot.

In MTT one day I saw a post on another site from a pro player who said that in a crossed hand where 3 intervened in a bubble in which he with a big stack could go out, he folded AA and later declared that it was a correct decision because lost to another opponent's QQ straight flush.
Maybe at that moment the player thought there would be another opportunity and that was not the time despite having had AA.

What is most important to me ios that I don't make mistakes in calling with a worse hand. I fold the best hand all the time, I am far from a good player. But I try really hard not to call with a worse hand.
