What are the options for female poker players?

I am a female and I love to play poker I think I am an ok player. I read that poker is for men not woman what are your options are woman good poker players

I think they are equally as good as men in general... only fewer. I think I am a descent player too...not a pro but can be a bit tricky in my strategy... I change strategy often so it wont be so easy to read me.

Welcome to Cardschat...and what a great thread... but such a shame that such a thread is needed in today's world. Of course poker is for women, but as with many institutions it has a history of being male dominated (whether rightly or wrongly). There are some very good women poker payers out there and more appearing as time goes on. There is no reason on earth why women should not play poker at whatever level they choose, just as men choose to play at whatever level suits them. Some would say a womans mind is more suited to poker than men (thats probably from people who have experienced the sharp brain and awareness that women display). I am sure many men would love to be as good as the likes of Kara, Liv, Vanessa, JuiceeQ, Dakota-xx etc but simply aren't...but could be....so why cant women be as good as anyone else. I am sure it will only be a matter of time before the numbers start matching each other and poker becomes a truly multi sex game.

Keep believing and keep improving your game and ignore the mysogynists who simply undermine themselves by making such stupid statements.

I think it does not matter that a woman
it is important to think is better to have a strategy for poker and understands it
Poker is not physical work that women can not handle
do not forget only that they sometimes work more and do the same job that we do not underestimate

I agree that poker should be for men not women. Let me be clear, the fact that the women of CC regularly beat me like a drum at the tables has nothing to do with this opinion. Nothing, I swear, scouts honor, really.

Poker is a sport of the mind, so anyone who knows the rules can play regardless of sex, religion or anything. I think it's great to have women on the table and I find interesting, all-female tournaments so that novice women will not be intimidated by playing with men early in their careers. They will be able to get distracted and get used to the sport and when you feel like you can play big tournaments. Welcome every day more.

Hello, I started a thread about a month ago called " How to encourage more women to play poker."

I encourage you to read the responses and comment.

Frankly, I was discouraged by a number of misogynistic comments as those comments are a reflection of society and cultures.

In the several verbose comments I made in my own thread, I try to provide a framework for the poker community to identify the market environment for serving women poker players.

I am one to encourage collaboration in the construction of a collaborative mission by the various stake-holders of any endeavor. I the mission (generically) is to grow the poker community, then it makes sense to look a who plays, where poker is played, how people learn the game, barriers to entry etc. My thread speaks to these points and more.

That's one of the things that struck me as quite beautiful about poker, especially playing live. Seeing the diversity, men, women, young and old, different races and ethnicities, different home countries or states, so many different backgrounds and experiences. All coming together to play poker.

Women are just as capable as men. But the % of women players are low. I have played vs. many women that can dominate a game.
