Hold’em and PLO obviously rule everything, but every now and then we toss in crazy stuff like Pineapple or Dealers Choice at home games and it’s a blast.
What’s a lesser known variant you actually love playing when you get the chance?

To be honest, I'm a Texas Hold'em player. I've tried watching other variants, but Hold'em is still the only game I truly enjoy.

Love pineapple with the discard after the flop, probably my favorite of any poker game. I have played where you discard face-up which is even better.

@ExMoroccan 2-7 Triple Draw for sure! Pure drawing, zero community cards, and massive bluffing potential. It’s so much fun sweating that third draw. Wish it got played more outside of big mixed-game rotations!

I'm a big fan of 2-7 Triple Draw whenever I get the chance. It's completely different from Hold'em—patience, hand reading, and drawing strategy matter so much more. It's a refreshing change of pace and really makes you think in a different way. I wish it ran more often online because it's a lot of fun.

I'd go with Pineapple. It's simple enough to learn quickly, but the extra cards make the starting-hand decisions much more interesting. It also creates some crazy situations that you don't usually get in regular Hold'em. Definitely a fun change of pace when you get tired of the usual games. 🍍♠️

I vote for Seven Toed Pete, better known as Seven Card Stud. It was the queen of poker games when I first started visiting casinos more than thirty years ago. It's variant Baseball was a lot of fun in dealer's choice home games even further that we'd have with the people I worked with. I barely remember how to play it so I've linked to instructions. :)
