Cheating in poker, whether it's online poker or live poker, is the same for me as stealing money from other people. And for stealing you go to jail so I think depending on how serious the scam was and what the scammer got from it it should go from life banishment from the poker room to jail time. It is a crime and should not be taken lightly and not only do you harm the people at their table but you also destroy trust in the poker sites. Poker is a disciplined and decent game and that is trampled on by the scammers

There are checks now, but unfortunately, they often target people who are not fraudsters, but who have changed country because they have moved...

The fraudsters live their lives. :-(

The “cheaters” have eliminated 99% of the playing field,so you have tournaments which normally have 200 players, have only the same 10 over & over & over.. That’s a scam also…

It seems to me that such people should be blocked in all rooms for life, and the money they earned by fraud should be distributed among the victims! I hope soon the rooms will begin to approach this matter more qualitatively! Good luck at the tables!

Starting with this premise, one of the problems you are going to have is that "cheating" is a sort of nebulous term Sure, there is obvious cheating but there are a lot of gray areas that are completely open to interpretation. e.g. is "angle shooting" the same as "cheating"? And "angle shooting" itself is a gray area.

There are plenty of people who will cry foul over these edge cases and demand that punishments be handed out -- particularly severe ones. We need to come to a consensus -- as a community, or on a site-by-site basis as to what "cheating" really is before we can move forward with the penalties.

I tend to think that anything is possible, all you need is desire. I think that an organization should be created that could monitor various cases of fraud and thus monitor and control the safety of other players.
