I think that if someone offered me a thousand dollars to give up poker forever, I'd take it.
For me, poker is a minor hobby. I play some real life games with friends when we get together, and I play some
freerolls and cardschat games (awesome, thanks CC!) and collect the occasional ticket on PS through starcodes and through the pokerschool scratch tickets.
It's a financial thing. I'd love to play more, but I can't justify spending hours on a freeroll or cheap MTT when I could be earning serious and concrete dollars by working. And when I'm not working I should be doing chores around the house.
For me, poker is like playing a video game, it's a way to spend my free time. Not that important at the end of the day in terms of money or ego.
