Before I started playing the texas holdem poker I liked to play ordinary poker
Now that I'm thinking about it, I see how different these games are
What did you play before the Texas Holdem?

What is 'ordinary poker', do you mean one of the stud variants?
My first 'money' card game was Three Card Brag, at school, a long long time ago. I didn't have a clue but then none of my opponents did either.
Mostly, at family gatherings we might play Old Maid, Switch, Pontoon (no money), Spanish or Trumps (nothing to do with Donald).

Oh, oh, we have a popular game called snoring. There are 4 cards dealt and a trump card assigned, you can make an exchange. Very popular.

I played with toy soldiers and cars. Then I grew up and I'm tired of childish games. I decided to try poker. Fun game.

I am one of 6 children so I used to play board games with my brothers: monopoly, scrabble, ludo, talisman, blood bowl, once or twice even subbuteo. When visiting my grandparents we'd play with cards: trumps, uno, cheat, rummy. My brother still has a room lined with board games he brings when he visits

Before I completely absorbed poker, I played in slots and very much in European roulette.

Before playing poker ... I played table games like the board, dominoes and chess ... until one day I happened to see a program on TV where a poker tournament was broadcast ... and from there I started to investigate about poker ... and I ended up worshiping this game ...!

betting odds,
very certainly not fond of, but poker is very well touched by the soul, and it is unlikely that I will ever finish playing it)

In school time there was a card game called trink. By the nature of the game and the combinations, it was a bit like Hold'em. Only on their hands did they give two cards and three cards lay on the table.

I actually started playing Omaha and Razz before I ever started playing hold em. Omaha is still my favorite, just a lot easier to find a good hold em game

Pitch is a very popular card game when I was growing up in Connecticut, a variant of it is 5-9 where it is pitch but the 5 and 9 respectively make a difference. It has been so long that I am not at all sure what. lol More points somehow.
Cribbage is another real popular card game, as well as Rummy, and Gin Rummy. We did play a lot of different types, 5 card draw was the first poker game I had played. Black Jack a close second. We used to play dealers choice when I was a volunteer at the local Fire Department.

Growing up in the 60's, we had a real popular game. It was called playing "outside", that included any running around game whether it included a ball or not.
