Well, after reading the comments of the others, I can say that I agree with the statement that we should not have a favorite hand in poker. Dopamine that builds up during the game can be dangerous, especially when the destiny strikes you with that beloved long-awaited hand you craved for. You may run the risk of misplaying that one favorite hand because of your emotions that can overwhelm the other real details of the game that you need to keep in mind, because there are many.
But to answer your question and be on the subject, one of the
hands that I consider advantageous regardless of the style of the other opponents is
A-A. Because when it comes to the biggest poker pairs, like aces things are clear. Having the best pre-flop hand does not necessarily mean that you will win it. That's why I just said
I consider it advantageous, not preferred. Especially if you make the mistake of allowing many players to see the flop. Thus, even if you risk throwing all the other opponents, the correct strategy is to play aggressively these pairs, betting quite a lot of pre-flop.
It is clear that there will be situations in which all other players will fold, but it is better to win a few chips from the pot (blinds) than to allow many players to see the flop when you have an AA pair or even KK. Nothing is certain anyway, for example I lost with AA today, I was kicked-out with 10-J off-suited with the flop: 4-10-9-Q-10.
