What's the most dangerous hand in poker?

The hand that fools me the most is AJ; I've gone all in a few times and always lost. I would never go all in pre-flop.

For me, it’s JJ. It’s strong enough to make you commit chips, but not strong enough to feel comfortable. Very often you raise preflop and then see A, K, or Q on the flop, which instantly puts you in tough spots.

The best advice courtesy of Kenny Rogers:

Is knowing what to throw away

'Cause every hand's a winner
And every hand's a loser

You have to know which is which, and that means knowing your players. Hold 'Em and its cousins are games where you can go from 100MPH preflop to 5MPH when the flop is set down. Raise it up with (A,A), have 7,4,2 rainbow hit the table, and that nit shoves all over your c-bet and you know you've never seen anything less than the nuts or very close to it. LET IT GO! Yeah, it's painful, but not as painful as calling only to be shown (7,7).

Ax suited (A♠x♠, A♥x♥) with a low x. Many players don’t pay attention to it, but it can make top pair with a low kicker, which often fools opponents.

For me, the most dangerous hand in poker is any pocket pair that isn’t aces. Every time I go all in with a pair, it feels like I’m up against some random Ax hand and the ace always seems to hit the board, even when the odds don’t really support it.

Of course, that’s more about variance and perception than reality, but psychologically those spots are tough. You often feel ahead preflop, yet you’re never completely comfortable because one overcard can change everything. That’s what makes those hands feel so dangerous to play.
