When to call the moderator?

I guess everyone's tried to sit at a table with a real loud-mouth. Either harassing other player's or discussing the game with a spectator (usually not in english). But when do YOU call the moderator? Where goes the line?
Personally I just turn chat messages off, but should we react, sort af saying: "that's not good tone?".

You done what you should. Turn chat off. Don't keep watching what others are doing. It will break your concentration.

I normally leave chat on but if just stupid then turn off.

However there have been times when it becomes over the line - just leave a message and they will deal with it.

A couple of times the players name is pure abusive/rude and having advised the site they usually have the name corrected or person removed.

There are times when you can do little about stupid players - just turn off the message section.

usually I call the moderator when Russians
They keep talking.
I think lack of consideration to the other players at the table, but do not know what the attitude of the moderator, I believe that anyone who complains should have a position on what action has been taken in relation to this or that player

You can turn the Chat off, or turn only the players in question off:

But as Portuguese some times happens to speak in my Native Language cause is more easy, not disrespect the others players. Is just easier

I am turning off chat ussualy, but one time I was in late phaze of tournament in Americas Cardroom, I had 10 000 in chips and this site start doing with me horriblle things... Blinds was 1000/2000 and I was still moved from one table to other table and I was on BB five times in row, so after five hand I was with last 2000 in all in... I lost it and I was out only because ACR moved me from one table to other table.. Then I want to call moderator and I had this problem too... I didn't know how...

Well like most players here i leave the chat on, but after what happened on FT, and got banned for 3 months, for something that even was not my fault.
I played a SNG when this happened, cant exactly remember what the hand was, but i set a trap and the guy fell right in to it, and he start to call me names, i was this i was that, i said nothing, he kept pushing, finally i had enough, called him a name and he reported me and i got banned, so when u have an Ahole like this on the table, report him right away, so this will not happen to u as well

if you can't connect easily to moderator I usually just email details to support@.......... with game type, time and some hand where comments occurred and that seems to work

You have an option on the Chat that can report the chat: And them the Moderator came and writte: "This Tournament is only in English Chat" it happens to me:

I rarely report bad language etc. My logic is it that if they get a chat ban they might stop playing at that poker room, or if they still play they have less to distract them. And generally people shouting abuse in the chat box are not good players.

I have reported a few people in the last year though, but only when they say really nasty things. I never chat myself, ever, but I do keep chat open. It helps me assess the state of mind of the other people at the table. It also helps me get an idea of intellect, though spelling and phrases used.

once I saw a guy calling the mod for some who were talking not in english. The mod just said english is the language to talk in the chat. The guys keep talking in their language and nothing happened.

dont turn the chat option off

I think we should keep the chat on to monitor what the players are chatting about. even if is offensive I normally chat to them and pointed out that they are showing their educational level and must time they stop that stops the aggression. on the other hand I want to monitor if people from the same country or team (World Cup) games are fixing or somehow manipulating their plays to significantly affect the results. :angel:

Personalet I never chat in my pen language (which is Danish). I find it disrespectful.
I have never called a moderator myself. As mentioned above, I just turn chat off.
But as drcarlos says, sometimes you can't help but suspect some people for fixing, when they continue chatting in non-English. Maybe I'm just paranoid ;-).
