According to my point of view, addiction occurs when you do not stop playing so you lose a lot of money, many hours playing and making bad decisions in life, such as being away from your family, your partner, your loved ones.

In my opinion, addiction to the game occurs when a player is unable to adhere to bankroll management. Of course, players who cannot play responsibly have every chance of becoming addicted in the future. It is sad because such dependence often leads to tragedies.

I don't really know many players who are addicted to poker, but I saw many who are addicted to gambling. And to separate them if you are playing poker with full of mindset, presence, you probably playing great to win so addiction can lead you to making profit. But if you are overplaying yourself, you will have more mistakes in your game, it can be even collapsed or you just get sick of poker for a while.

I sometimes make pauses in the game and not playing any on a daily or even a weekly basis.

I think psychologists define addiction as a habit that is harmful to you and/or your loved ones. Not two days I ago I saw the effects of gambling addiction on a business owner as his world came crumbling down. Pretty sure he was addicted to Adderall too.

Addiction manifests in many things. If somebody is addicted to gambling, they are probably addicted to other things as well.
