When You Play Live Do You Take Breaks or Just Grind It Out?

When I play live poker I like the take a lot of short breaks unlike online where I grind constantly. When I take breaks from poker I like to play blackjack mostly. I might play some roulette and baccarat from time to time. I also like to go sit a the bar and have a drink.

playing live i take little lunch break every few hours to eat than start grinding again.

I usually don't leave the table unless it is for a bio break or something like that. I also try to eat or drink much so I don't have to do as much of the above.

Live poker is more difficult emotionally to transfer to a person, that's why a player needs rest.

I like to take breaks. It helps to refresh every now and then. I like to get something to drink (water) and just walk around to relax.

Agreed. I always take breaks when I get the chance to play live. Grinding it out leads to exhaustion and poor decision making for me.

Depends how I'm running.....I'll stay unless I really need a bio break. If things aren't going so hot, I won't hesitate to take a few.

I played 5 hours the other weekend, and took a 5 minute break. I play 3 hours once, and took an hour break. I guess it all depends on your level of focus. If your concentrating on a higher level, you will not need as many breaks. If you need a lot of breaks you may be distracted, and that in itself could be a tell that you're giving away by getting up to walk around a lot. I seen a guy sit down, double up, stand up, walk around for 45 minutes then go home once. :/ There isin't a rhyme, or reason when, and why a person should, or does take a break. I would just consider why I want that break, and how much it means to me at that moment. That if it seems like a good tine, I might usually take it. Don't forget, time away from the table usually means your not winning, or loosing to someone.

Don,t you think this is impossible to play live poker withour breaks. You need some time to eat something, go to restroom. Also you need some break just to clear your mind from different thoughts.
After that you can play poker again.

Theres no way i can play poker, play bj/roulette then go back to poker in the same sessions. Different days are fine but i usually grind it out besides smoke/bathroom breaks

When play live, I like to stop and relax for a few minutes, I stop thinking about poker, when I come back I focus 100% again

i dont really need to take breaks other than to the bathroom. when i go, im prepared to sit at the table for multiple hours. I may get a snack during a break in a tourney.

I try to sleep extra before going to the casino, and if I'm not getting any hands for two or three rounds, I'll take a break. Normally don't play on the casino floor like BJ etc, as the noise and so on messes with my thoughts.

If I'm going there to grind I set a time say 4 hours and do that and leave at the time no matter if I'm on tilt or up. Then reassess my body feeling, get a coffee, and do more grinding or go home, to play another day.

When I play live, I do not take many breaks. I'd rather watch them playing for some information.
When I play poker live I constantly try to apply concepts that I read about human pisology. When I do poker breaks it's just to go to the bathroom or have a non-alcoholic drink.
