Where they discovered and learned poker?

I've always loved cards, and the games we play with them. I think that I got it from my mother because at an early age she taught me to play cribbage and gin rummy. I grew up during the 1950s and 60s when there were westerns all over the tv and movie screens. Well there was usually at least one saloon scene, and you would usually see someone playing poker somewhere in the scene. It seemed to me that poker should be added to my catalog of card games.

When I was eleven or twelve I asked mom and dad if they could teach me poker. They thought it was an excellent idea, and were always encouraging of any activity my big sister and I took an interest in. So Saturday nights after the Lawrence Welk Show ended, and before Gunsmoke began. the three of us would play poker. Though I didn't realize it at the time, playing with them might have been more enjoyable than the game itself. 🙂

When I went out for a walk, I learned with some friends, I even played in my spare time with my co-workers.

Nice one. He must be a very decent teacher because i dont see any differences when u guys play...and not even when u post 😀 👍

A true mother/father and son relation so to speak that continues with this beautiful game 😍

I learned by downloading Pokerstars and playing with fictitious money at the time, then I discovered that there was a poker house close to home and I went to visit it and just that day there was a freeroll, then I played, I did very well, I was the second to be out of the tournament in just 20 minutes of the tournament, lol, but I still fell in love and continued attending
 
I first discovered poker through friends and online games. I became interested in the strategy and psychology behind the game, and I gradually learned by playing, watching experienced players, and studying different poker strategies.
 
My family has always enjoyed card games. I learned from a young age but I was only familiar with poker in high school.
 
I discovered watching Two and a half men and learned a little playing alone and a lot more with videos and courses
