In my opionion definitely Phil Helmuth.He is constant in the game for more then 20 years,he has like 13-14 braclets which is impressing.Many players had their 5 minutes of fame and dissapire from the scene,go broke or something but he is always there ....I watched alot of his game and i admire some of his crazy soul reads,calls,bluffs....Still its funny when he is pissed off

I'm an Ivey "fanboy" so I have to cast my vote for him. OP mentioned Johnny Chan. Had kinda forgotten about him but you have to respect the runs he had at wsop ME in the 1980s. Also remember playing online at Chan's poker room. Honorable mentions have to go to Stu Ungar and Doyle Brunson as well. This is a tough question. There have been some incredible players and personalities in poker.

Hey. I do not watch live tv tournaments. but I saw a few videos in YouTube, where they showed interesting distributions of poker tournaments. and I really liked Daniel Negreanu's game. Daniel Negreanu is one of the best poker players in the world. it's my opinion.

I would like to philosophize so I would say, the man with the most money is the best poker player. He can always rebuy and once he will kick you out of the tournament and won you. Just joking. I prefer Durr Dwan style so his my fav as number one player. He is the one who won and who playes real poker, not only "good cards poker" so I admire him, he is my number one.
