My Mother first put a deck of cards in my hand when I was about 4 years old, Teaching me to play clock solitaire, it taught me how to count and how to tell the 12 hours around the clock-face, I remember teaching my daughter the same game when she was only 3 years old, but also how to play "Black-jack" my reasoning was it helped her to count to 21.
My Wife said to me she was having nightmares of her starting nursery classes, because if the Teacher asked the class if anyone could count to ten, my daughter would stick her hand up and say "please Miss I can count higher, 8,9,10,---Jack, Queen, King".
I was taught by a lot of adults like Aunts, Uncles and my Parents how to play many card games at an early age, when they had a Home game going usually once every 4 months or so, but Texas Holdem is self taught. I watched late night Poker on T.V. then played on-line for fun money, but decided I wanted to play for real Cash and started with Pokerstars Free-rolls.I have never regretted it and never deposited my own money, so now I play for Fun and Money.

When the fun Stops, STOP!

Poker

Nobody taught me how to play poker. I achieved everything myself. I learned from my own mistakes. By the way, this is the most effective way of teaching.

The game of poker was taught to me by my friends. After going to a few parties and seeing everyone play and not participating, I decided to let them teach me how to play and I've been playing every since.

My brother taught me to play poker. He explained to me and if I liked it I learned quickly. Even now I have not forgotten those first feelings.

Never had anyone teach me. Learned by watching and playing. Which might explain why I don’t win very often!

I met the game with some friends in a meeting 5 years ago, I played for a while, but I left it, and now I am returning to play more frequently.:D

I have four brothers my eldest brother started showing interest in poker, the five of us would get together for a weekly game we started watching more poker on tv entering live tournaments so i think we all kind of bounced off each other teaching and learning, so i would say my brothers taught me how to play poker

 I alone, I learned to play poker more than 15 years ago, when I was a boy I was 16 years old, today I am 33 years old in this world, unfortunately I am not lucky enough to go to other Latin American countries, to make a career as a player, but some day with work I will achieve it.

If you lose, don't bother, understand that you gave your best ...

I was taught by TV, in my youth I loved watching Texas Hold'em tournaments, I did not follow the players' progress, I liked the game itself, and those played combinations :)

I honestly don't remember. I think I read the rules for Texas Holdem online. Traditional poker, I learned as a kid playing similar games like Tripoley.

I learned with friends when we finished high school, that was the beginning of 2011. Years playing and mostly losing because I never really studied what poker was. The last 2 years I started studying and my results changed completely, I recovered what I had lost for years and I could be positive. Always trying to improve.

Wow, I learned how to play at a home game when I was 11 or 12. Back then, we played with dimes which was fun for a kid. Little did I know that I would continue to play many years later.
